Aerials 6 Way 2 m Individual Switched Extension Lead

This item was delivered promptly and has been 100% OK, v.good in fact. 'Does what it says on the box' (as they say), every thing works. At the end of the day it is just an extension socket..... so correct functionality is of key importance - not so much the aesthetics, well for me at least. I see that other reviewers have not been happy, but I have no complaint whatsoever.

Item not exactly as pictured but I'm more interested in practicalities than appearance; the only real difference is that the switches are smaller than shown. Switches are positive, illumination is just right and it has mounting holes in the back. Looking at earlier reviews which complained of flimsy switches, no mounting holes, wrong hand cable and over-bright indicators it seems clear that you are sent whatever is in stock, making this review a waste of time.

Being a gadget type of person my home and office have so many phone / battery / laptop chargers, often plugged in but not 'on duty' though consuming expensive power. I didn't want a master and slave type green extension lead because no single item really is the master. So I ordered these individually switched items.Of course they do exactly 'whats on the tin lid' they provide a number of switched outlets. The good news is that the outlets are reasonably spaced for all those "wall warts" (integral switched mode supplies or transformer supplies) to plug in next to each other.Please note - there is no isolation switch for the whole bank of outlets. There is a single neon lamp to indicate power is applied into the bank of outlets. The individual outlet switches are flush with the socket when off, and protrude a few mm at the top when on, exposing a red upper surface.On the back of the housing are two 'holes and slots' (there is probably some technical term for these) to allow the item to slot over screw heads. To keep the back of my desk tidy and cable free I'have used these to mount the outlets near the top of the back wall of my desk.Now I only have to get into the habit of turning chargers on and off when needed.3 stars = it does the job fine. I can't see that an extension lead would ever warrant 4 or 5 stars. So if you think my 3 stars implies the product is substandard or barely up to the job then you would be sadly mistaken.

I was looking for the cheapest power strip with 6 individually-switched sockets, and this is the cheapest power strip with 6 individually-switched sockets, so I bought it.So far it has been on all day for a week or so, and has kept the power flowing fine, and hasn't melted or blown up.There aren't individual lights for each socket, just one for the whole strip, so if you want to see at a glance which sockets are powered, you'll need to be able to see the individual switches.The switches are quite small and stiff, easily worked by fingers but unfortunately not by toes, so you might have to crawl under the desk to turn things on and off if, like me, that's how you're using it.

As other reviews have pointed out this is not as described. I too wanted a lead with individual lights. I also liked the look of this item but all I received was a bog standard "cheapo" lead This lead does not have individual lights, does not have blue markings around each switch and is not curved at the ends. The lead I received was the most basic lead that you could buy anywhere for half the price. On contacting seller was offered return-declined this due to travel, queuing, packaging and postage-was instead offered "2.00 discount. Now have a lead I do not want but cannot return for above reasons. Seller told me they had no control over photograph & blamed Amazon.The law states that the product must be as described and that sellers should not send something different just because they don not have the described item. I suspect many buyers have fallen for this and have had to keep the item as not cost effective to return.If you want a bog standard cheapo look for alternatives.I am amazed that Amazon who vet these reviews have not picked up on this.Buyers should be able to shop in confidence and receive what they order and not be fobbed off with an inferior product in the hope that they wont complain.Not happy with time wasted on this purchase.UPDATE:After advising Amazon that the image is incorrect and that supplier is providing an inferior item,,I have just received an email from Amazon advising me that the incorrectly imaged item has been removed and the correct picture is now showing.In the meantime many people have received an inferior item to what they ordered but cannot return it because of the postage costs wrapping etc.

amazon cheat on this product, on the picture there are switches with small light indicators, but I got oridinary switches, which are so small, that you need to be carefull and strenghten your eyes to realise if they are on or off. after I complained about it, amazon refuse to take it back, they change the picture to the right one, but nowadays, they offering the swiches with light indicators again... you never know which one you get, and this is annoying

this product lives up to its description easy to use well built, it arrived within the specified delivery time,only little gripe was that there was nothing to anchor it in position,would have been helpfull if there had been two double sided pads, had to buy a roll of double sided sticky tape

Had been using a standard 5 socket extension cable, with an extra 2 socket block at the back of our TV, which meant we had to unplug every appliance because we couldn't reach the main plug. This saves the hassle and means no more extensions in extensions. Perfect.
