Water Butt Cleaner restores the natural balance in water, cleansing, deodorising and cleaning waters through stimulation of naturally occurring micro-organisms present in rainwater. When organic matter, (leaves, plant waste soil, dust etc) , become deposited in water, the water becomes cloudy and polluted. In turn the water becomes stagnant as micro-organisms use up all of the available oxygen in the water butt to function. Ultimately sulphide formed due to lack of oxygen results in foul smells from the water butt which can become toxic to most living organisms, causing potential problems with plant growth when used on the garden. The water butt cleaner will restrict the growth of the toxic sulphide produced by the sulphate reducing bacteria, thereby eliminating odours, restricting toxicity and clearing cloudy waters through the settlement of solids. This is achieved by the water butt cleaner stimulating the sulphate oxidising bacteria to devour the sulphide and as a consequence restoration of the sulpher cycle is achieved. With this newly available oxygen the naturally occurring micro-organisms can oxidise the organic matter and transform it to carbon dioxide and products such a lignin and humin which settle harmlessly as a sediment. Simply dose two reservoirs of product to 100 litres of water weekly until balance is restored in the water butt.
