Works well
I used this when I needed to get pulled out of a snow drift with my fish house in tow. Put this in the tig vehicle and used kinetic rope. Few jerks and I was out with no issues with this shackle receiver. Perfect!

Does Not Work with 4th Gen Tacomas
I bought the hitch with locking pin option. The locking pin is too short for the 4th Gen Tacoma. I have a 2026 and the pin is about .75" short for this to lock in place. This is not the fault of the product! It's a stoopid Tacoma thing. The receiver hitch on the Tacoma is double walled....meaning there is an added wall around the hitch plate. Not normal on most other vehicles. Because of this, the locking pin won't thread through the hole enough to actually lock it. Now Toyota does include a long hitch pin in the glove box, but it doesn't lock. So if you keep this in a recovery bag stored, and pull it out when you need it - you're good to go. Just don't buy the locking pin option from Nilight. I'm not docking this because of the pin length, I'm docking this because I slide the hitch in the reciever, when I discovered the pin wouldn't work and pulled the hitch out a ton of paint was gone! This will rust pretty quickly, not a big deal since it is covered in the receiver, but still, it shouldn't be set up to rust right off the bat. It is super heavy duty and seems pretty solid. Looks nice and I may just purchase a long locking pin for future use. For now it will just stay in the recovery bag.

Honestly, I bought this because my previous shackle of a different brand was stolen. As cheep as it was, these days if it's not tied down, it will be stolen. This one cost just a few more dollars and I got it in Red and with an antiTheft hitch pin. I would recommend it to anyone.
