Not reliable, crashes/disconnects every couple days
I really like the form factor of this little camera. I like how small the camera itself is, and I like the design of the network box that attaches to it. It allows power and ethernet connections to not enlarge the actual camera and be hidden elsewhere out of sight.First time setup was easy enough: after plugging in, look at your router to see what DHCP address it got (or better yet, assign it a static ip), then visit that ip in a web brower. The setup web interface is not pretty but it is easy to use and gets the job done. Then adding the stream to my Synology Surveillance Station for recording worked fine too.The picture quality is a little fuzzy and a little noisy, but it's pretty reasonable considering the lens is only 1mm across. The auto-exposure does a good job at adjusting to different times of day and indoor lighting conditions.Unfortunately, the camera only works for a day or two at a time. When it dies, it doesn't even show up to the router anymore. A simple power cycle doesn't help. Only a complete reset will bring it back, but then you have to go through all the setup again. It's a shame because this seems like a firmware issue given that the hardware works fine again after resetting, but the last firmware update listed for the PLC-128SPW on Phylink's website was March 2017. If they haven't fixed it by now (February 2019) I have to assume they never will, and I returned the camera to Amazon.

for the price, the quality is impressive.
Setup via Ethernet cable was a non event. Plug in, check router for new device, copy ip, access web interface, set everything. bam. Done in 15 minutes straight.the picture quality is for the size and price a surprise. its really good.funny thing is, the firmware the device shipped with, is form 6.4.18 (jun 4th), while on phylinks homepage the newest firmware is from 2017.EDIT after 5 days of use: Since obvisiouly PHYLINK does not support its customers, I give an unusual recomendation: Go get the part from the chinese manufactuerer instead of phylink. Go google "NC128S Camera" thats what the IC board inside the cam housing said. END of EDITalso, the device fails to have a log. so you don’t know if the record2nas is working or failing. you’d have to check the destination for files created by the cam.also, while you browse the web interface, you’d have to click the word of the desired thing, while the surrounding area already is shaded in gray, you would click and nothing happens. you have to point straight at the word, not the area. Also, I don’t like the live stream to relay on flash, but well, the thing was 130 bucks plus shipping and a non usable power supply for EUROPE, so I wont start complaining about it.I started to record to NAS. Using the 2nd stream with a “low” quality to not fill up my 20 TB of NAS storage I did chose with 15 fps, 768x432 and 768kbps. 20 Minutes are 110MB and the recorded quality is reasonable good.BUT I will go down to 5 fps, and have the first stream in highest possible quality record events, that should do the trick. So overall: Packaging and supplied accessories was in good shape and plenty. The cam is quite awesome for the price. Some minor glitches, they may fix with an firmware update some time in future. So beware housekeeper, we will soon know for sure if you really really really don’t know about those broken things in our home :-)EDIT after 5 days of use: We got her. She stole cash, cat food and broke a glas cup by intention. So the investment payed of already. END of EDIT

I would buy this again, or buy a second one
Works as advertised. Good image quality for compact size of camera, has motion detection, supports emailing alarm. Supports saving to FTP or NAS but I haven't had the time to mess with it to get it to work.
