FRYE Men's Jones Chelsea Boot

Sizing: I purchased these at the same time as a pair of Walnut colored Allen Edmond chelsea boots. I ordered both in a size 11, and while the Edmonds' were true to size the FRYE boots were slightly large. They fit perfectly with heavy outdoor wool socks. If you plan on wearing them with dress socks you may want to consider a half size smaller.After wearing these boots 3 times, the left sole developed a very loud squeaking sound. This was loud enough for friends to comment on while walking through the city. After contacting SHOEBUY, they would not refund or replace the boots because they were worn. How I was supposed to discover this defect without wearing them is beyond me, but I was very disappointed with SHOEBUY.I decided to contact FRYE about the issue but didn't have a lot of confidence that they would accept them. Their customer service was extremely helpful, and they had a brand new pair on the way to me as soon as I had dropped off the first pair at the UPS Store. The new pair is perfect so far. Very happy that FRYE solved this issue for me. I would purchase from them directly in the future before using SHOEBUY.

At first I thought these boots were too big for me. I normally wear a 12 and ordered a 12, but my heel kept slipping upwards while I walked in these shoes. I even went over to a Frye store and tried on a half-size down just to see. The guy working there told me that I needed to wear my boots for a few days, and the slippage would improve. He was right! There's still a bit of slippage, but not nearly as much as before. These are also my first pair of Chelsea-style boots, and I was getting used to how these no-lace shoes fit. After a couple weeks, they've easily become my favorite boots -- for both comfort and looks.Besides the fit, these boots are beautiful. I get compliments on them, and they look great with casual wear (jeans) or more formal wear (dark jeans, chinos, etc.). I bought the "Stone" color, and after seeing the other shades at the store I'm glad I did. A bit of a distressed look without looking beat up. Highly recommend.Also, I suggest getting some "weatherproof wax" to take care of these pricey leather boots. The wax helps protect the leather from water and dirt. Frye sells some for $10 or so. Cheap insurance if you ask me.

Beautiful boot from Frye, The only issue so far is the heel is really snug and tight for the first few wears so it was almost impossible to put on and take off. Which was embarrassing when I was at a TSA security check and I couldn't get the boot off at first, But after a few wears the boot is much easier to put on and take off, Once on it is a really nice fit and I can wear these all day long. Will look for some other Frye boots based on this purchase

Description stated there was one pair left in the size I wanted, 9.5D. I received 9.0D!! I could not exchange them because the Amazon description says "unavailable". In addition to the wrong size the boots were very poorly packed. Looked like someone just threw them into a small shipping box with a little tissue paper on top for packing. Past Amazon Frye purchases included boots well packed in an original Frye box and then placed into an exterior shipping box.The boots themselves looked "OK" but I noted the usual Frye branding was not embossed on the outside of each heel. And, the inside lettering showing the size, product number, place of manufacture, etc. was faded and hard to read. I have owned the "Jones Chelsea" before and somehow these just looked a little off......maybe a knockoff?? Proceed with caution if you consider buying these boots.The one bright spot was the ease of free returning and a very quick refund issued so I am at least grateful to Amazon for that.

Quality was better than I expected, and the chocolate color is the sane as in the pics. For those wondering about size I had to return for a full size smaller than I wear my Vans.

Nice and quality boots. Somehow I missed that these boots are distressed leather, not smooth. Not the finish I was expecting , but I liked them enough to keep them

Nice looking boots. Fit is as expected. Very comfortable but it takes awhile to figure out how to put them on.

Decent chelsea boot for the price. There is a white film of waxy material over the boot to give it a vintage look. The boot is lightweight and seems decently constructed. However, be very weary when ordering these. I was sent a used boot, and the boot had deep set wrinkles in the leather at the toes, as well as scuffing on the sole. It was also missing the factory Frye tag that always accompanies brand new Frye boots. I am very disappointed that Amazon would send a used product while trying to pass them off as new. May return.

Good quality boots purchased at a good price. Expect a little slide in the heel as the boots break in. Great construction as always by Frye. Had a Topi sole put on to protect leather soles from the rain. Won't be disappointed with this purchase.
