We offer 2 types of Baked Bison Tendons: the flexor and the tibial. While they differ slightly in size and shape, our tendons are healthier and safer alternatives to rawhide or synthetic chews. These tendons, naturally low in fat, are easy to digest and help keep teeth and gums clean while reducing tartar buildup. They will provide hours of chewing pleasure for your canine companion. Our grass-fed bison come from the western part of the U.S. and are raised humanely without added growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics. INFORMATION ABOUT FOOD ALLERGIES: Dogs can develop allergies to food just like people. The immune system triggers a negative response, usually to a protein in their regular diet. The most common offenders are the most common ingredients in dog food, namely beef, dairy, chicken, lamb, eggs, corn, wheat and soy. According to most veterinarians, a food allergy typically occurs when the animal has been on the same diet for an extended period. Early signs of allergic reactions may include severe itching, accompanied by what appears to be a skin rash, hair loss, chronic ear infections, diarrhea or vomiting. In the process of trying to diagnose the food allergy, most veterinarians recommend an elimination diet while switching to a novel protein source. Our SINGLE INGREDIENT BISON treats, in particular, are often found to be good choices for animals suffering from food allergies since bison is thought to be less antigenic, or less likely to produce an immune response.
