Easy come, easy Grow.
- Review for Houseplant Potting Mix, Fertilized, Perlite Soil for All Types of Indoor House Plants and Tropical Plant 1L || Price: £6.99 (at time of ordering) -This is high quality potting mix, perfect for plants that prefer well drained soil. It's particularly excellent if you frequently find yourself battling fungus gnats, as these thrive on overly damp soil with poor drainage. As others have mentioned, the only downside really is the price. 1kg is not very much unless you plan to mix it with another potting mix, but that kind of defeats the whole purpose. Even the 10L bag is still frightfully expensive compared to other brands. You can definitely get away with a cheaper option in most cases, however if you have a specific need for a particularly temperamental indoor plant, then this very well might be the solution you are looking for. Recommended.

Great soil
Just what I needed for my plant it seems to have taken well to this soil. The soil it’s self is a great quality well mixed and a great price

It’s a nice product but, very expensive.
I really don’t know what is special about this tropical pot plant mix. I’m no expert and tend to buy a known brand with an appropriate mix for the plant I’m repotting. This is expensive for just 1 litre at £6.99 but I have spread it over 3 x plants adding in a mix of peat free compost and perlite around the edges of the pot.I don’t know about ‘worm poo’ or bug resistance as thus far, my tropical plants have been bug free but, I’m excited to see if the worm poo makes them thrive yet more than they have been doing. The soil itself is light and airy and also mixed with perlite providing the great drainage houseplants need removing the necessity to add sand and grit into the soil.I love gardening, both inside and out, I’m no expert and can’t comment on the claims made by the makers but, so far my plants are happy and growing. However, I still think this is expensive and only worth purchasing for a tender, prized specimen and even then I think I would take time to see what else is available.

Excellent Quality but Slightly Pricey: good for beginners
I recently used the Houseplant Potting Mix, and I have to say, the ease of use was remarkable. Unpacking the mix and adding it to the plant pot was straightforward, making the process hassle-free. The mix, which includes Coir, Perlite, Worm Castings, and Lime, provides a rich, nutrient-filled environment for my plants. The quality of the soil mix is evident. It has a good texture, and the addition of worm castings, a natural plant food, gives my plants the nourishment they need to thrive. The mix holds moisture well while allowing for proper drainage, which is crucial for preventing over-watering and ensuring healthy root development. However, I must give this product a 4-star rating out of 5 due to the price. While the quality is excellent, the cost for 1 litre of soil seems a bit high compared to other soil options available. Additionally, the 1 litre bag was not enough for even a small plant. I recommend that buyers pay close attention to the quantity needed and consider purchasing the largest pack available for medium to large houseplants.Despite the price, the re-sealable bag is a nice touch, keeping the soil fresh and easy to store for future use. The mix's natural composition without added fertilizers is a big plus, ensuring that my plants are growing in a healthy and natural environment.Overall, this Houseplant Potting Mix is a great choice for those looking for a good-quality, nutrient-rich soil mix for their indoor and tropical plants. Just be mindful of the quantity you need and the price point.

Great potting mix, but expensive if you buy small quantities
This is excellent potting mix, and exactly how I make my potting mix, except for the fact that I don't add worm castings. Worm castings actually add the nutrients to the mix, as coir is in the mix to aid water retention and perlite lightens the soil but has zero nutrients. The texture and feel of the mix is great, and it doesn't dry as fast as regular potting mix, but if you buy it in the smallest 1 litre size then it will cost you considerably more than if you buy the larger bags. A small bag will also not go very far - maybe only 2 pots. Shop smart and buy the larger bag sizes.

Quality potting mix but far too expensive
I was intrigued by the addition of worm castings to this houseplant potting mix. Since we stopped using peat, I commonly use coir, and often add perlite when growing seeds and cuttings, and for plants that need especially good drainage. However, I'd not come across compost containing worm castings before. A quick google told me that it's basically worm poo, and it organically provides a number of benefits such as plant growth, soil aeration, moisture retention, natural pest resistance, and protection from disease.Worm poo can't be cheap to produce as this potting mix is very expensive. At £6.99 for a small 1 litre bag, you would need to save it for very special houseplants. I have a ledebouria socialis (silver squill) which was recently overwatered, and badly needs some TLC to restore it to full health. I had to smile at: "Our soils are packaged with a re-sealable bag that keeps the soil fresh, and easy to store for later use." I will barely have enough to repot one small silver squill, so storage definitely won't be an issue! The largest size available is £16.99 for only 4 litres, so however well it performs, I can't really see myself buying any more of this potting mix.

Small bag of good-quality compost
I like the quality of this compost, but I would say that it is more to top up the soil in your houseplant pots than repotting them, as I have too many plants to make this 1 kg bag go very far. The whole bag was gone in minutes when I spread it between all of my pots.Time will tell how well the compost is working for my plants, but for now, I am happy with the texture and appearance of it. I will buy some more in the future if I see that it is working well for my plants.

Good start in life
A 1l pack doesn't go far, but it does give your plants the best chance of a decent start to life. The mean amongst us will be mixing it with traditional far cheaper potting compost to try to get the best of all worlds
