an all around good product.
excellent product, using for recording and streaming video games from xbox and switch. much better alternative than getting an expensive gaming capture card. simple to use and plug in, and is compatible with my mac and windows pc.

Picture conversion is too dark
Fine for amateur use, but picture is darkened and artificially sharpened during the internal conversion, making it unsuitable for semi-pro or professional use. The color is shifted slightly to green, also.

Works great and a good value
My 2018 MacBook Air immediately recognized this device without any configuration and am able to use it with my Sony RX 100 as a webcam through HDMI output. It does run hot when capturing but I’ve left it on for a couple of days straight and no issues so far. It works with FaceTime, Zoom, OBS and probably anything that you can select a usb camera source with. The picture quality seems good, it just takes a while using the camera’s settings to get the right white balance, brightness ect. It’s been a great alternative to the more known brands that have been sold out lately and are pricier.

Runs a DSLR camera
I stream with a Sony A6000 and these device runs it perfectly. It does get warmer than the elgato counterpart but it works very well.

This Works on iMac And You Don't Need a CD
This capture card works on iMac by using the video capture device source in OBS. iMac's need uvc support to capture gameplay. Your iMac thinks it's a camera so it will show up when you go to properties then in the devices drop down menu you'll see it if everything is plugged in correctly. Also if you're using this for Nintendo Switch take the switch out the doc and back into the doc for it to appear on your tv and in OBS.

Don’t recommend for Mac
Do not recommend for MacBook had to get a refund. The only way to download the software to use the capture card is with a little cd that comes with it. I have a MacBook Pro and do not have anyway to install the software because there is no way to insert in. I did some research and went to the website of the company to see if I could download the software through there. It had the option but every time I tried to install it the website would not let me. I thought I had found a good deal on a capture card but even though it says it supports Mac OS it does not.

It’s great, just buy it
The best value bar none. Works like a charm and for a fraction of the price the big name rivals cost.

It’s ok, but in the end don’t buy
I got this capture card for streaming. And it works very well for the most part, but after an hour or so it starts to overheat, and if I keep it on too long it starts to glitch out. I recommend getting a higher end capture card so it’ll last longer.
