I usually buy a round pelleted food, but this is such a great value and was available, so I bought this. My fish absolutely love Tetra Pond Sticks of all varieties. They're super lightweight - so I have to use care when tossing handfuls into the pond from the deck 6' above on a windy day. They also tend to clump, so if you have big koi with giant mouths, they will eat this like a vacuum on high. The little guys have to hustle. I fix this problem by throwing them in/around the lilies and floating plants. They soften quickly, so even the really little guys can eat them - though I still worry about the little guys getting enough. If you have 4"+ fish, there is no worry to these. Anything smaller, and you need to buy a smaller pellet so they can snatch a run. I love the value of this food, and it's paramount to have spring/fall food on hand for those cooler months in Michigan. You simply can't feed the rich summer food when the water is getting cooler and causing their systems to slow. Great to have on hand - seal up in the start of summer if you have any left so it stays fresh for fall.

The Koi love it, very little waste since they gobble it up. I buy both my spring & summer food from this brand for years.

Good product but the price went up too much

i always use this brand for spring and fall. even the tiniest fish can gobble it up bc it gets soft right away ! it stays at the top for koi and goldfish and other top eating fish

I have been using this Tetra Spring and Fall fish food for years for the fish I have in an outdoor pond. It is intended to be used when the water temperature of the pond is between 50 and 39 degrees. The fish readily eat this food, where they did not with some other brands that I have tried. This should work well for Koi and goldfish in outdoor ponds.
