These are a perfect remake of the original Tamagotchi devices, taking me back some 30 years to secondary school when we all tried to keep them alive during lessons and not get discovered, muffling the bleeps for food as best we could! These new devices come with a range of cool new designs. One of the best things about Tamagotchi is how the creature adapts to your parenting style and grows into one of several species depending on how you look after them! My 9 year old daughter loved it and for those us old enough to remember the originals it’s a nice trip down memory lane

The nostalgia feels are real , remember having one of these as a kid and being the hero of the school as kept mine alive for so long then one day gave my mum one job to do and feed my little blobbert and clean his poop whilst we went on a trip .... Came home to sadness as she just left him all day bathing in his own stink and he left this world far too early . Saw these have had a bit of a revival in recent years and there are many to choose from the basic to funky flashy screens with colour but I thought I'd stick to what I know. I'm on my own for the most part an deal with physical and mental health problems so it's sometimes hard to keep your mind busy without doom scrolling or staring into space . So I had this crazy little idea of giving myself something extra to do in the day and picked one of these up . Straight away it brought a little smile and within minutes I'm having to feed play and clean again and it brings a little joy to the day . These are simple to use and easy to get to grips with with each command , the tamagotchi does have a beep setting when ready for feeding or other activities , you just set the clock and within about 5 minutes you are ready to go and be kept busy with your virtual pet . The downside of these could be one of 2 things , firstly this gen is fairly small so if you have big hands or struggle to grip things it could be an issue , and secondly there is no backlight so being an LCD screen unless you are in the correct lighting it can be difficult to see as there are no brightness settings until the V5 I believe . However these are a perfect gift for practically anyone I'd say over the age of 8 , whether it's for someone like me who spends a lot of time alone , or if you want to teach kids in a fun way about responsibility, time keeping and caring I think they are a great little device. Especially this time a year at Christmas

Granddaughter loved this, brought it for her birthday.

My daughter (9) asked for one for Christmas she has been obsessed with it since but it seems it’s now run it’s course.. the pet only ever lives to 7 and dies even Responding to every command, the game you have to play is one one and is very repetitive, biggest downfall is no back light so is very dark and incredibly hard to see.

Bought this for my daughter who was 12 at the time. Loved the novelty of it but didnt last. I took over and had lots of fun with. Brought back lots of memories. ;-)

Nostalgic tamagotchi, same display as the one I had in 1997. I managed to alien the poor thing in record time, some things never change. I love the super cute flowery design of this one. Noisy wee toys though I had to turn the sound off straight away and then I forgot about it and then he went to space lol.
