Morphy Richards 103003 Accents Jug Kettle and 222004 Accents 2-Slice Toaster, 850 W - Sand

My wife and I decided to go colour coded with 2 new pieces of kitchen equipment,the Morphy Richards kettle and a matching toaster.They arrived together and when we opened the boxes, both items oozed quality,but of course,proof of the pudding was in the operation. First thing I did was shorten the lead and wrapped the cord inside the bottom part of the kettle...this was a little stiff to do but once done it looked great and the shorter lead makes it that bit safer..After initially boiling the kettle first to clean out any factory debris..I saw immediately that it was super quick( and no more noiser then any other kettles out there)..but so it should be at 3kw (my old one was 2.2kw).There is no element showing inside and there's a removable scale filter fitted at the pour out end (not that I've ever seen any debris inside any of our kettles) just in case you get any bits.It also pours very nicely too with no dripping.One thing I noticed was the power switch...this glows a nice bright white led...Morphy Richards moving with the times of asthetics...usually they typically glow red.The outside finish has a textured finish...almost orange peel affect,and it makes it look great in the colour we chose, which was Sand.The lid opens very easy with just a small pressure on the button which is built into the handle and the window for the water level is also situated behind the handle too...which for me is fine,but for some seems to be an issue....everyone to their own prefference. Overall...we are very pleased with this kettle...Stylish..quick boiling and very well made..We can highly recommend this kettle.Cheers

I've been using this kettle for two days so can only base this initial review on first impressions. My rationale for the four star rating will be explained later. It arrived in a sturdy but compact manufacturers carton and was very easy to unpack. Apart from the main body of the kettle there is also the base plate and attached power cable and an instruction booklet included in the box. The features below are compared to my previous kettle, a Russel Hobbs stainless steel 1.7l jug, approximately 11 years old.- The kettle has a brushed steel finish and even though it is the same capacity, 1.7l, as my previous kettle it is nearly 2cm shorter. The space saving appears to be in the concealed element compartment. The on/off switch is located below the handle and is illuminated with a white light when turned on.- If internal plastic is a problem for you there is a plastic liner in the hinged, button released, lid. The spout filter is made of plastic as is the level indicator tube.- As previously noted by other reviewers the level indicator tube is at the rear of the kettle parallel with the handle. I didn't think that this would be a problem as my previous kettles tube was in the same location and was easy to see. This one is not and the main difference is that the Russel Hobbs indicator was convex and could be seen from the side but this one is virtually flat and very hard to see. The indicator has three level marks, 4 Cups, 6 Cups and Max.- The base has a silver trim around it and compared to my previous kettle is half the height. Incorporated within the base is room to coil up the 2 foot, approximately, lead if you wish to shorten it. The lead has a fitted non removable three pin UK plug.PRO's+ Looks good+ Bright 'On' light+ Easy to handle+ Good pour, no spillage or dribbling+ Fairly quiet+ Good cable storage+ Easy to remove spout filter+ Reasonably fast boil time, 4 Cups - 2mins/ 6 Cups - 2:40mins/ Max - 3minsCON's- Level indicator hard to see- Hinged lid release feels flimsy (time will tell how robust it is)- Overall feel is 'lightweight'- Hinged lid partially blocks the top when open and trying to fill the kettle, I'm filling it through the spout due to this.If this kettle lasts even half as long as its predecessor I will be more that happy but at the moment it is only 4 stars.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT - HEAPS!!! Just want to say about this company - O.M.G. (three letters only) to describe the OUTSTANDING and FABULOUS service!!! I thought all the 5 star reviews I had read yesterday were maybe exaggerations about how great both the service and kettle are, but nope, I was wrong. This kettle is awesome, and has a flip top lid with the press of one button, so that my 79 year old mother can use, and she agreed with me, it is sleek and lovely in design, colour and performace. I nearly passed out with shock when, having ordered it yesterday, I received it today - wow!! 20th century great customer service in my experience, cannot fault this organisation. Will highly recommend them. I would happily give this company and product and "8" star review, I'm so happy. It looks so much more expensive than the £25 and free delivery I paid, and performs/looks like a product in the £38-£40 range. The handle and base of the kettle are totally cold after this kettle has just boiled, as I touched both, and allowed the kettle to sit on the flat palm of my hand, 10 seconds after boiling, to prove to my mum it has this lovely safety feature and will not burn you. I love too, the actual base and plug, and this is silver, so gives an extra sleek finish. If all my purchasing experiences were as straightforward as this, I would be ultimately happy, to be honest. I cannot hesitate to recommend this kettle and it has a stainless steel interior, so no twang to the tea/coffee from a plastic tasting interior. Great stuff!

Nice looking kettle, great addition to the kitchen. This is very loud when boiling so is difficult to hold a conversation with someone and not the fastest to boil when full. Pleased to have tea without boiling pans after my old kettle broke but certainly would not paid any more for this one.
