the shells were not "authentic" they seemed thin and weak not like the ones we gather on the beach. this was a fine kit, very basic. the clay included was hard and not easily moldable. the glue seemed like glue you wouldnt give to young children. I would probably skip this kit and go a different route

This little kit packs a whole lot of fun. I got this to do a craft with my grandkids and they absolutely loved it. I had 5 today and the kit has 10 shells so that they could each do 2. We did this craft to go along with their homeschool assignment about marine animals and it complimented it perfectly.

11 year old and her mother spent a rainy afternoon indoors creating and painting different themed shells to put in their garden once the sun returned.Items for easy to use for the child and she loved being able to do what she wanted without any type pre-designed stencil or outline to follow. Just a blank shell and her imagination!Paint, glue, glitter, moving eyes were all plentiful in supply. Shells were easy to hold in her hand and she said smooth to paint on.Fun afternoon activity that wasn't expensive and created memories both physical and mental.

My daughter has a weekly play date with one of her friends and I like to bring art projects for them to work on, which they love. Usually there's just one other kid, but this time there were two and this art set was perfect to keep them entertained for a couple of hours! The kit comes with everything, five big and five small shells basic paints, glitter glue, clay and googly eyes, so there's quite a variety of components for them to use their artistic imagination. It also includes a little pamphlet for the kids to get ideas to incorporate the clay into their projects.

First of all, my box got crushed in shipping like someone put a bit too much weight on it. Given that there are shells and not rocks inside, I was really concerned, but it turned out the packaging was good and nothing got damaged.As for use, my 9 year and her friend thoroughly enjoyed this set. Easily an hour of entertainment right here if not more. There is everything for your imagination to use: shells, paints, color clay, glitter & googly eyes. Obviously no reason why other things can't be added on the spot by the kids. Mine decided to glue pieces of fabric to fashion dresses.
