Roller brush quit working.
The roller brush quit working in just under two years but it only has a 1 year warranty. The vacuum motor still runs strong. The motor in the brush head works as I tested it with a 9v batter. The electrical connection from the main unit to the head seems good. Something in the head unit is the cause. Possible battery or battery connection issue as I don't get the 21.6v measured at the brush or at the connections coming from the housing. When it worked it worked great. I thought about getting a Dyson but even they only have a 2-year warranty. Maybe the Dyson would have lasted longer, who knows. The cheapest Dyson is still $240. I can get another Deik for $109. So I guess for the price of one Dyson I can have two Deik and just use the old one for jobs that don't need the roller brush, like maybe for the car.Update: I fiddled with the vacuum a little bit more and found the cause of the issue. There are two contacts on the main body behind the removable dust bin. (see photo) These connect to two contacts on the dust bin to supply power to the roller. The two contacts on the main body had lost some springiness. What I did was use a small pick and gently pry them both out a little bit. Now it works normally. I still leave my review at 3 stars because I feel that most people wouldn't go this far troubleshooting and throw away a perfectly good unit. Whew... almost bought another sweeper.

RIP My Deik: A short-lived experience, but what do you expect for $100?
I bought this vacuum nearly 17 months ago when I moved into my 850 sqft apartment, and tonight it passed away. Below is an unbiased review of this short-lived relationship. When I first started looking for a cordless vacuum, my biggest concerns were:- Ability to pick up pet hair: I have two cats that shed a lot.- Battery life: I wanted something that I could cover the whole house on one charge.Cat hair:Surprisingly, this vacuum did a pretty good job of grabbing cat hair that drifted across my hardwoods. When it came to area rugs and furniture, it performed ok. I have low to medium pile area rugs, and while they looked clean at a glance, however, I noticed that over time, pet hair really built up. Since I have minimal carpeted space, I ended up getting a small handheld (corded) vacuum for about $30 that did a much better job at pet hair removal. In tandem, they work great. However, if you have lots of carpet of any pile, this might not be the right vacuum for you.Battery PackAs mentioned, my apartment is roughly 850 sqft, which is much smaller than most people's homes. Full transparency I only vacuum about once a week, but being the only person in the house, I don't make a big mess and I'm religious about cleaning out the canister and filters. For the first year or so, it easily kept a charge while I vacuumed the entire house. However, after about a year, it just seemed to have lost its power, then started puttering out as I was at the tail end of my cleaning routine. Finally, the last few times (month 14), it started dying early on, and as of today, I can't get it to hold a charge for more than 2 seconds. Bummer.OverallFor $100, it's a decent deal if you don't carpet AND you have limited sq footage. It's easy to clean doesn't take much space and is cordless - so there are many pros. Also, you get to make countless Deik jokes. Just don't expect it to last much longer than a year.

It’s a piece of crap don’t buy it, diek customer service is worse
Don’t waste your money on this defective vacuum. I haven’t even had it a year and like everyone else the battery just stops working. It’s extremely frustrating to have an issue like this when you haven’t owned the product for a year. No worries it’s under warranty right? Email diek and it’s a crap show there. They asked for my order number so I provided it. Then they ask for it again, confused, I provided it again. They state they are sending me my replacement, great! Get another email ASKING FOR THE ORDER NUMBER AGAIN!!! I think is this a joke, she said they were sending me my replacement two days before hand, but I provide it again with a response stating I had provided it already twice what gives. Few days go by and now a new person IS ASKING FOR THE ORDER NUMBER AGAIN!!! Save yourself the headache, spend money on a high quality vacuum. The time I’ve wasted sending my order number now four times within the past two weeks could have been used to order a new vacuum.

Epic Failure - during warranty period and NOTHING
I love the LED headlamp - it's amazing how dirty your house is and you can't see it. I also like how you can remove the beater bar to clean the hair off b/c my kids and I all have long hair. I will look for those features in my next vac. I hate - that you have to empty the canister after each sweep; that the last items to go in fall right out when you shut it off; that it doesn't capture and retain kitty litter; that it stopped working before the warranty expired and I never got a reply from them when I asked for help. The motor runs, but there's no suction. So, I'm out over $100 and have not been keeping my rugs clean for about 4 months while I work towards a replacement. I want a stick, but I think I'd rather empty a bag than deal with the mess of these plastic containers and awful filters.UPDATE - to be fair to the manufacturer, I believe my husband installed a spare filter in a place it wasn't supposed to be causing it to stop sucking up. I removed it and cleaned it out and it's working great again. Still does not like kitty litter, so I took it to the retail store I work at on weekends where it is a big hit. For home, I bought a Shark that separates hair from the beater bar - with 3 long haired people in the house, it's ideal! (And it eats kitty litter).

The Cordless that Could!
Ok it’s been nearly a year using this cordless vacuum so it’s time for my review. OMG, I love this! I am so surprised at the power behind this. I have a Dyson vacuum which, while fantastic, is too powerful for my thin area rug under my dining room table, which is what led me to looking for something for this. This works wonderfully, it’s especially helpful after the grandkids come over 😁. It’s very strong, stronger than I ever would have expected from a cordless. I use it under my bed, on my cloth shades, in all those nooks and crannies that a big vacuum is too big. Amazing! It does take a long time to recharge completely (a day) but that’s not a problem.
