Great for the noob, beginner, DIYer, amateur electronics...
I use it to troubleshoot 12v devices I build. Does the job. You can't just turn up the volts. You have to give it some amps too.

Bench power supply
Works great! Good for testing test circuits or experiments. Used mostly to prototype replacement relay system.

Terrific Bench Top Power Supply - DIED in 6 months!
After years of using batteries to test circuits, I FINALLY decided to treat myself to a legit Bench Top Power Supply. I wish I had done so decades ago! This one worked fine out of the box, but didn't last more than 6 months. I'm not a tech repair guy, so I only used it a few times a month at the most. REALLY disappointed!!! :-(This is how it behaved while it worked...The ability to set the top-end of the Volts and Amps helps protect the circuit. Then having the same digital readout be the actual Volts and Amps being consumed (real time) by the circuit is PERFECT! This has been VERY helpful to choose between circuit designs for the most efficient. Then the circuit can be fine-tuned by substituting components to dial-in the most efficient.SETTING THE VOLTS AND AMPSThere is a single knob for Volts. By pressing-in the knob, the digit being affected will advance to the next digit to left. It will "wrap" back to the 1000th digit (the far right) when it is at the left-most digit. There are other units offered with a Fine and Coarse knob. These are adjusting potentiometers, and the digits jump around a bit; which bothers me. Having my hands off of the knobs and seeing the digits jump around makes me feel the equipment is flakey or out of calibrations (even though it is fine). I prefer to set the digits and have them stay put. This unit does that. :-)COLOR DISPLAYThe digits are large and easy to see.The different colors helps to tell them apart, so I know I'm looking at the Amps because it is the darker blue color.BTW, the Amps is 4 digits, so it will measure (and display) to the milliAmp (1000ths digit).ONE THING I DIDN'T LIKEThe only CON I can find is the "spike" when the ON/OFF (to enable power to the output terminals) is first pressed. It doesn't go above the top-end Volt or Amps, but it is there. I could see it when testing an LED. Immediately after pressing the ON/OFF button, the LED would illuminate brightly, then go out, then ramp-up to full power. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or serves some kind of purpose. It seems like a bug, but for the price, I can't expect perfection. As long as it doesn't harm the circuits or components, I can live with it. Other than that, I'm VERY happy with this purchase. While it was working, it helped me up my game when designing circuits. But save your money and get a different bench top supply. Seems like anything under $100 isn't going to last.

it works great
does exactly what it says . great cables with it also

Waste of money
If you truly enjoy a power supply that's dies after using it a few times this is for you. it just stopped so sad because it had potential i guess you get what you pay for i suggest looking at a different model/brand.

Dangerous Garbage
Absolute dangerous garbage.QC is terrible and the device is filled with sketchy-ass bodges from the factory.Avoid at all costs. This product is DANGEROUS and can start a fire. This product can kill you and your entire family.

Junk set to 3.65v over charged to 6.00v
Not accurate at all. It was putting out accurate voltage then it wasn’t. No good

Generally good for a budget, seems to have 5MHz noise on the output
I thought this was a tracking positive and negative with center ground, but not so, it provides single-rail power (as presumably do all the others here on Amazon that have the same board in them and are similarly priced.) The output is well controlled in voltage and current, and the multi-turn adjustments of voltage and current are reasonably easy to use (not perfect for sure, but good for the price). My one concern is that I am currently using this to power an RF oscillator I'm prototyping for a 28 MHz amateur transmitter, and there seems to be pretty significant noise on the output at around 5 MHz. My oscillator is quiet running on a battery, but bounces around when powered by this. I think I can smooth it, and I doubt it would be terribly significant for a lot of hobby-level work, indeed, it might be "normal for a switched-mode supply", honestly I'm not sure. But if you need really clean power, you might have to spend a lot more. Generally, however, I'm happy.Update: I discovered today that the reason my 28 MHz oscillator was desperately unstable was because of the noise on this PSU. Running of a simple 9 V battery, the oscillator is rock solid and generates a solid 9 V p/p swing. However, running of this PSU, it drops in and out of oscillation, and only generates about 2.5 V p/p swing. Clearly that 5 MHz noise on the output of this PSU is messing with the circuit. I hope this will still be useful for non-RF projects, but it's clearly unsuitable for this project (and of course, I discovered this too late to return it.) I'm dropping my rating to 3 stars based on this discovery.
