BETTER THAN THE REST ESC
Choosing an ESC that meets the requirements of drawing sufficient current while being able to keep its temperature low is the ideal solution sought by RC jet constructors. Having gone through a frustrating experience in the past where another manufacturer provided inconsistent speed levels as well as a braking feature, it was clear that the DYS 60A Brushless ESC would serve as an ideal engine for my 50mm EDF project. It was easy to see how professional the manufacturer was when the ESC arrived at my doorstep ready to be used straightaway since it had already been soldered and featured XT60 power and 3.5 mm bullet plugs. The most remarkable thing about the ESC used here is throttle linearity and motor control. While other inferior units are not able to time or synchronize well because of their programming or poor build quality, the DYS offers an excellent throttle response that is smooth and accurate throughout the entire process. It is especially important when it comes to EDF jets because one needs to be able to accurately manage their power while taking off and landing. Another advantage is that there is no unwanted braking system that can pitch the aircraftโs nose. The reliability of electronics is also enhanced through the incorporation of a 5V/6A SBEC. Most of the ESCs available in this class come with a low amperage BEC, but the 6A SBEC found in this one gives you a lot more room to play around with. Even if you put your servos under strain during high-speed moves, you can rest assured of a consistent flow of electricity to your receiver because of the high capacity of this SBEC. This ESC is where the real strength of the ESC lies compared to others on the market. Ducted fans have always been known as โbattery killersโ due to the fact that they consume high amps, producing a lot of heat in the process. However, despite operating at full throttle, the DYS 60A remains relatively cool. The cooler running temperature allows the ESC to avoid overheating and protect itself from damage while still providing the same level of power during takeoff as it does upon landing.

this new esc hasn't failed after10 flights and I hope it never does I had never had one fail before.
Replaced the on that failed in my Aeroscout, Thanks goodness it failed on the ground after 3 flights and by finding the problem on the ground I didn't crash the plane. it was a brand new one right out of the box. Hope this esc don't fail specially in the air for I would never know where would wind up.

Be careful of the quality
Not happy with this at all. Plugged it into my perfectly good Rx and it would not power up after applying 3s pack to it. Tried the Rx in another ESC (both the second ESC and the Rx were known to be good) and the Rx will no longer power up. I tested the voltage coming out of the ESC's BEC and Im getting just 0.13v between the Black and Red and nearly 5v between the Red and Signal wire and the same nearly 5v between the Black and Signal wire. This ESC fried my Rx with reverse voltage. Im out an ESC and an Rx now.

Works good, and the price is right
This is a good, basic, ESC. First time you power it up, it will beep at you and do nothing else until you calibrate the throttle (i.e. go from zero to full and then back again.) Once you do that, it remembers the calibration and works as it should. It's a nice little safety feature, and I was surprised to find it in a no-name ESC. Throttle response sounds correct, and the BEC seems up to the task of powering at least four servos and a telemetry-capable receiver.

Worked great for 2 uses
Worked great until it popped and smoked on the 3rd use (~20% throttle). -3S/XT60 2200mAh Battery -R12F RX -T12D TX

Best bang for the buck, lots of settings
Full 3 parameter selection for most settings, reverse function as well, cannot be beat for the price, holds up to full throttle at 14amp draw continuous from 12.6v to 9.6v, heat sink gets pretty warm but it never hit temp protection mode. Waterproof ends with hot glue if using for boat or float plane. 9 flight hours so far, no issues or signs or failures. Even works under water and will propel plane at low rpm through water when upside down. Strong little ESC.

Very good ESC
This has given me months of trouble free use. Very good ESC and beats the sticker shock of other name brand stuff. These are the only ones I use in my planes.

Good budget ESC
Good budget ESC. I've been running it pretty consistently at around 55amp max on 4s (not certain how it would sustain at 80A). Seems pretty necessary even at that level to have adequate airflow as it often comes back quite warm.
