Good stuff!
Ruffwear is my fav brand for leash and halter...worth the extra money...for comfort and fit and durability. Used for many years and many of my doggie best friends.

Best, most versatile leash I have
Things I like: loop near the handle, where I hang an S-hook so I can clip stuff on, or use it to tie the dog to a post while I use the bathroom in the park. The lower loop is great for maximum control of my large dog.Padded hand-hold is comfortable, even for a large pulling puppy in training.Length is perfect for me at 5 feet. 6 feet is a little too long and 4 feet can be a little short. Works well for both my dogs (100 pounds and 40 pounds). I've had one before I bought this one--we left it at a dog park but I'd used it daily for years and it was still solid.Clip is a *little* small for attaching to my Herm-Sprenger collar, but not bad. Occassionally wants to stick open--mine spend time on the beach and get sand in them--so I rinse it and once in a while squirt some WD-40 in there.Highly recommended.

Stop researching.!!! Ruffwear is the best .
If you don’t have a lot of time on your hands to research and look through countless reviews in the hopes of finding the perfect collar, leash and harness for your precious dog ( who of course deserves the best), look no further thanRUFF WEAR.. The leash is lightweight and extremely sturdy. My dog has chewed his way through other leashes..but not his RUFFWEAR leash. The collar is also made very well and it is the only collar that does not bother him. NOW for the Harness. I have bought numerous harnesses in the past that my dog hides when he sees them. They have been too heavy, or pinch him under his front legs. The RUFFWEAR harness is constructed just right. All clips on all products are crafted for security. . All are good looking, comfortable, easy to adjust and well priced. The control I have while walking my dog with RUFFWEAR products ( especially when he sees another dog) can not be beat. I sound like a RUFFWEAR salesperson, but I am not.I just love dogs.

Buy it
Excellent leash - Very lightweight, quality, secure, comfortable handle. I have an ultralight leash from a different company and a standard traditional weight leash also; this one is the perfect mix of the two. You cannot go wrong with this leash. If I had one critique, I would love a 6' version for loose leash sniff walks to allow a little more freedom. Regardless, this is my go-to leash.

Nice leash, but the clip is too small
I use this leash with the matching Front Range harness. I like the length, the traffic handle, and the padded handle. However, I would prefer that the poop bag loop were a d-ring instead of a fabric loop- it's fine for a single bag but a d-ring would be better for a dispenser. The bigger problem, though, is that the opening of the clip is slightly too small for the harness attachments- particularly the front one. I don't understand why Ruffwear doesn't use an aluminum d-ring on the front of their harness, but it's just webbing, and it's extremely difficult to unclip the leash from that attachment. If it's this hard for active thirty-something people who strength train, I can't imagine how anyone who is older or has arthritis or decreased hand strength could do it. They could improve the harness by using the same aluminum d-ring on the front that they do on the back, and the leash could be improved with a clip that has a larger opening.

fantastic leash!
we love this leash!! it's solid, comes in really nice colors, has an extra loop at the base for additional control if you need to hold your dog close, and the most important thing for me is that the clip is a unique design that makes it very easy to attach and detach from our puppy's harness. many leash clips are tiny, flimsy, and are hard to toggle open - this one is much easier, and the metal is really sturdy. i had a hand injury a while back so really appreciate that the leash is so easy to clip on and off with one hand while holding the dog! we have several other leashes, and this is the only one we really ever use now!

Comfortable and functional but not durable.
I was disappointed by the durability of this leash. I decided to lean into Ruffwear for my two pups. Outfitted them with an every day harness, every day leash, and every day collars. The harness hasn't worked the miracles I hope, but that's because dogs still need trained, can't expect a harness to do that. But for a brand called "Ruffwear" and marketed in the manner their products are, I expected more strength and durability. The leash is probably thinner than any other leash I've ever owned. I didn't think much of that at first, but the younger pup who likes to bite at the leash while it's being worn out of excitement during walks has just about finished chewing through it after less than three months. Again, some of this is for me to solve with training, but I'd still expect it to be more durable than that. Now it is lightweight, which is nice. The locking clip works really well. And the padded handle is a really nice feature. So it's not without positives. But I felt like it should withstand more biting than it has, and it's disappointing to need to replace it already.
