Very good tool
Gets the tieraps tight, and then snips the tail off. Does the job, highly recommend. 🙂👍

Decent panduit gun.
In case there is any question, this tool does fit duct straps. It's a decent tool, but it does have to be in the correct orientation to actually "grab" the end of the zip tie. This often needs two hands to ensure it works properly- an issue that I have not experienced with the Malco equivalent. I would buy this again for the much better price. Also, the bit that cuts the end of the zip tie is sharp and cuts flush.

Quicker, easier, and neater looking cable jobs!
This cable tie tensioning and trimmer tool by RyMarCool is really well made and is easy to use. If you use a lot of ties like I do, you will find this tool very useful. I have been doing telecommunications cabling since the late 1970's and have always just pulled ties hand tight and then cutting them off with a pair of diaginal cutters. I never really considered doing it any differently, however, after seeing this tool, I figured that I would give it a shot. I'm glad I did, because for a pricepoint of only $16, this tool really makes a mundane part of the job quicker, easier, and neater looking all around. Definitely a solid buy for anyone and will probably last me for the remainder of my cabling career!Review for: RyMarCool Cable Tie Tensioning Tool Durable Steel, Comfortable Handles, For HVAC and Trades 2405-099

Do you need it? No. Is it useful? ABSOLUTELY!
This is one of those tools that you could live without, but it makes things so much easier. You know the struggle of getting zip ties tight? It involves a lot of awkward pushing and tugging. Then, you have to get the snips in there to cut off the tail. This tool gets the zip tie super tight and then cuts off the tail. Easy. It's probably not for one or two ties, but when you have a whole section of wires to tie and cut, that is where this shines. You can regulate how tight you get the ties and then cut the tail without the risk of cutting your wire.Well worth the price.100% recommend.

Solid tool for occasional use
Overall, this is a solid, well built tool. It's made of metal and can handle a few drops or tumbles in toolbox. If you've never used one of these, you'll definitely notice the lack of any instructions or even a product photo showing how it should be used. Fortunately I didn't need them.Performance: It works with a most common sizes of ties -- some a bit better than others. You'll need to be careful as this tool does not have an automatic cutter. This isn't necessarily a negative as it allows you to get the ties pulled *very* tight. It does take some practice to know just how tight you can pull the tie and cut it before it snaps. The gripping mechanism seemed really wonky when I first looked at it. Looks can be deceiving because it was effective enough to provide enough grip to pull even some larger ties I tested. The cutter works well but the cutting trigger does make the tool a bit larger. That's only an issue if you are working in tight spaces. The blade looks like it could be replaced though I'm not sure where to get them. I can imagine needing to replace the blades with some frequency depending on the size tie you are using so the useful life of the tool might be limited.Overall good.

Grips the ties well, cutter is ok
This is a decent cheaper zip tie combo tensioner and cutter. It doesn't have the single-squeeze tension and cut feature that the nicer ones have, and for the price I would spend just a little bit more to get that feature instead of these. On the other hand, I can tension the zip tie really really tight and then cut it. The gripper part works well, and the cutter cuts, but one-handed the cutter lever is very awkward to use when also squeezing the handles with the same hand; it's almost a two-hand device.

Tricky to use
This RyMarCool cable tie tension tool is pretty unique. In fact, I don't think I have seen another tool like it. It does have a bit of a learning curve in that it is trick to get the top and bottom connectors into the tool. Cutting off the tie is pretty simple once you do that. The biggest use case is to use this to tighten longer zip ties around HVAC ducting so that flexible duct does to slip off. I personally found that I liked using good old fashioned pipe clamps and a drill/driver than zip ties. That is a big YMMV based upon how readily you have zip ties and can quickly use the tool. Over all I would rate it at 4/5 stars.

Solid feel to these cutters.
These sip tie cutters feel great in my hand. The coated handle give a lot of traction for that any angle cut. And any electrician knows what I am taking about. Even when my arm is fully extended, I can get a clean cut on any zip tie. The tightening and cutting motion are smooth, and the cuts are quick. Not exactly sure what steel they used to make these cutters but it is robust, the design is simple but very well thought out. There are no burrs anywhere and it looks to be precision laser cut.Good quality, great design, comfortable to hold, and made to last. These are very nice zip tie cutters.
