ProfiCook PC-FR 1038 Stainless Steel Double Deep Fatfryer

The fryer arrived quickly and well packaged. It provides all the functions I was looking for and for which one can pay a lot more. Having the three baskets available for use in the large 5 litre tank is a real bonus. The overall size is still compact enough to make it usable even on a relatively small sized worktop. The design works well with easy to use but effective controls, producing good frying results. Overall an excellent deep fat fryer. The two-pin plug is not an issue as it comes with a fused 2/3 pin adaptor, which I found straight forward to use.I did not give it the 5th star because the gauge of stainless steel construction could have been heavier and the insulation between the tank and the outer body is made of cardboard. For a fryer with a RRP of £150 one might expect a more substantial construction but only time will tell if these issues prove to be a weakness. Meanwhile, having used it for the first time, it heats up quickly and produces really great chips.I am pleased that I bought it.SUBSEQUENT EDIT - I am updating my review after using the fryer on two occasions. On the third use, I discovered that the 2/3 pin adapter would not stay connected to the plug and only then realised that the 2-pin plug could not physically be fully inserted into the adapter. This is due to the design of the adapter supplied. Whilst the adapter supplied is inappropriate for the fryer (and I had no chips that night) I was able to purchase a suitable, fused adapter from the 'Pound Shop' and this works fine. A small additional outlay and problem averted; but be aware that the adapter supplied although suitable for other styles of 2-pin plug is of no use to this fryer. I hope that the fryer itself continues to perform properly for a long time to come.Howard1YEAR LATER - I can't believe I have had this fryer for over a year! Any uncertainty over the performance of this machine has been dispelled. It is BRILLIANT! The little baskets are really useful. And I have fried 2Kilos of chips in one go using the large basket and the results are great. I have grown in confidence using this fryer and get really great results. It is a breeze to keep clean. I look after it and it looks after me. The plug adaptor I bought from the Pound Shop does its job - I have absolutely no regrets with this fryer. Do yourself a favour and buy one.HowardMY VERY LAST EDIT - Now it is into its 3rd year of excellent operation - BUT WAIT! Last night the electric control box/panel started to smoke (luckily I smelt/spotted it in time). It has catastrophically failed. I asked, very nicely, if anything could be done. The Seller's response was brief "Hello, The manufacturer unfortunately gives only 2 years warranty. I can not do anything for you, I'm very sorry.". My tough luck then. Think, if it had been advertised as an appliance that would catch fire after 3 years, would I have bought it? Well would You?Howard

BUT having used it only the once (and it did work very well) now it does not work at all. Contacted seller and also Amazon and found out that it would have actually cost me over £90.00 to return it insured and tracked direct to the seller in Germany. This would have meant that I would have been some twenty plus pounds out of pocket. However eventually we did get a prepaid return label Now we have to wait for the refund. I did not expect a piece of German technology to turn out to be somewhat lacking not only does it not work but it has been a hell of a job getting the thing returned to the seller. I only hope that the refund comes quicker that the solving of the problem. I do have to say that we are very surprised at the fact that this piece of equipment failed as My Austrian wife and her family know the German Company/seller Petra's Schnaeppchenmarkt and their experience of having purchased numerous products from them in Austria and Germany has always been extremely good perhaps they don't like the Brits to have the same experience. Our personal advice is unless you are in Europe DON'T BUY THIS ITEM AS IT APPEARS IT WONT WORK IN THE UK

Arrived promptly and very big box for smaller box to slide in?? However i was not expecting 2 pin plug and a cheap chinese adaptor with union jack sticker on,the adaptor was not flat backed but tunnel shape,giving impression round plug would slide in,no it does not! so i had to buy a uk adaptor made in uk to use this,i would not have bought if was made aware in description 2 pin plug fitted,no where in details of contents of box does it mention china uk adaptor,no where on specifications does it mention comes fitted with 2 pin plugContacted seller who said im only one had problem check reviews? well im 1st to review and if i lived in America plug would be fine but i live in UK and i would have liked to know 2 pin plug and cheap china adaptor..As a solicitor i do not tell lies and i would avoid this seller .Im not in habbit of leaving bas fb but its honest and seller takes money and really could not give a damn,actually said twice " so vwhat do you want me to do about it" i suggested refund of cost i had to pay for uk adaptor and was told "read reviews no problems with plug so what do you want me to do about it" well lies as no reviews and amazon id like you to make this seller behave as rest of your sellers do!I took the fryer to a certified electrician and was told the fryer was DANGEROUS was not fit for purpose!!!!!

Despite loving this fryer, it's a 4 star review. This arrived with an EU plug, and had I ordered the identical one on Amazon prime Eu I would have paid much less. I paid more for UK plug, so I was a bit cross.The fryer itself is exceptional, heats up fast, I love the two smaller baskets, amazing when doing chips and onion rings together. The large basket is huge, we're a family of six, and it is about time we found a fryer big enough to handle food for us all plus guests! It also seems much quicker than any 'top brand' fryer I have owned in the past.I bought the correct adapters, as a pack of five for under a tenner on Amazon, needs to be Schuko style EU plugs, as they're fused properly, this fryer should last us years, it's certainly of a brilliant quality.
