Could do better ...
I was aware from other reviews that soldering is required. But you need to attach pins to the electrical wires and these then push into sockets on each side of the connectors. No pins included. No instructions either. While lack of instructions might be OK if assembly was obvious, this seems not the case. One side of the connector has yellow waterproof ring attached. The other side did not, but two yellow rings were included in packet, both seem to have a slightly smaller thickness. Not clear what is purpose of the two rings? Is supplier being generous in case you lose one or should you use both? Also not 100% clear how much you need to tighten up the locking nuts to ensure the unit is waterproof. Overall, a good price, but the lack of pins and uncertainty about putting this together lets this product down.Postscript. After writing the above, I contacted Aquatix-2U by email ([email protected])asking clarification about how this goes together. Within an hour (impressive!), an email came back with a photo that made it all clear. It's a pity that I can't attach it here. You put the two loose yellow rings into each of the black threaded bits which attach on each side to the male and female green bits. Then you tighten up the black threaded bits on the green bits, which press down on the yellow rings and make a waterproof seal. Sorry that I can't explain this any clearer, but if you have the bits, you'll probably get the gist! Also to get the seal when the female end of the connector is attached to the male end, it is worth moving the other yellow sealing ring forward, away from the boss in the middle of the green connector. This causes the ring to make a better seal when the male and female ends are connected. I hope this makes sense ...

Really useful and time saving
This was used to connect a replacement pump to the existing (buried) supply cable. The item's well made and a very good price considering its good quality. It's quite small, though and I found it fiddly at times to solder the terminals at the side of the pond. It doesn't come with written instructions, but the photo on the Amazon site makes it clear what's required. From memory there are 3 "O" rings that need to be positioned within the connector and make it waterproof when it's tightened up.To make the soldering easier, I recommend:1. leave a longish length of supply cable (I cut mine a bit short, really).2. arrange a small vice/clamp at the side of the pond to hold the connector in position while it's being soldered.3. Do the job on a dry, warm day to allow the soldering iron to get hot enough. But using this quality item actually saved me hours trying to dig up the existing supply cable from under the rockery and I would definitely use this item again in similar situations.

How to install?
Thanks for fast shipping, product is great quality. I hope it works. Also, there were no instructions on how to assemble, just a guessing game. Also, no connectors from wire to the connector... Would be useful to know what else is needed, and how to use it correctly.

Waterproof connector
Very well priced, and is a solid connector, however It would be a first class unit if you could secure the wires using screws , it doesnot appear easy to connect the wires safely

Good item neat but a bit fiddly
Great item. Bit concerned with the contact for 240v being so close with out any insulation so I usedinsulation tape after soldering the wires on to the contacts.
