It is still working!
Used as an irrigation pump for my garden. I connected it to solar panels and it is working fine after a year.

Creek Pumping: 120 Lift, 12 Volt - 200 Watts
I'm using this pump to draw water from a shallow creek. I pump the water along 400' of 9/16' (15mm) polyethylene pipe to a holding tank at about 120' lift. I made a filter out of a piece of 10' long 4" pvc pipe by cutting some slits in it and then gluing screen around it. I put the filter into the creek, with the open end out of the water, let it sink and tie it to a tree. I then slide the pump into it, hook up the pipe and electrical and it starts pumping.I started with one 12volt - 100 watt solar panel and it works fine except when a cloud passes it stops pumping. I added another 100 watt panel and it works better. It still shuts off during heavy clouds but its OK. I live in the Caribbean where the powerful sun starts the pump at about 9 am and pumps to around 5 pm. I was able to fill my 1100 gal. tank in two and a half days. My system is portable. I set it up for 3-4 days and then take it down for storage when I leave the property. This pump works fine with 12 volt power. I assume that it is advertised as a 24 volt pump in case a user submerges it deep into a well and uses more then 100' of wire. Apparently, if you use more then 100 feet of wire 12 volt DC power starts to weaken. So, if your wire is over 100' you are best to use a 24 volt set-up. My wire is only 50' and I added a 7.5 amp fuse, on the positive wire, as recommended.I'm don't use the advertised $122 controller because its expense and I don't understand how it could work. I prefer to invest in more energy - another solar panel. You could also add a 12 volt battery and a solar panel controller for about the same price. This would really improve efficiency because the pump would always run as long as the battery is charged. The pump comes with the basic connectors so you can attach your own wire and pipe. The instructions are excellent and you will have no problems doing this. I used that flat gray 10 gage wire. The pump has a little nipple that you clamp a piece of hose to and then attach your pipe to. This worked well for me because my set-up is not permanent, however, this seems to be a weak spot for a permanent installation. I think they should make the pump with the threaded fitting coming directly out of the pump and eliminate the hose.I'm very happy with this pump. Its energy use and lift are just what I needed. I hope it lasts for many years.

works great with solar panels
My off-grid setup:- 2x 100-watt solar panels (12v panels hooked in series for 24v) directly wired to the pump- The Shurflo pump mounted in a plastic catch basin submerged in a creek- 400ft of 3/4" black irrigation pipe going up a 120ft elevation- 2x 300gal IBC Totes to collect the creek water -> pumped through 5 micron filtration -> 3000gal cistern for house supplyIn full sun, hooked to 2x 100-watt solar panels directly to the pump, this little champion confidently pumps about 100gal/hour up the hill and is very quiet. It beats the heck out of my gas powered pump that could only pump halfway up the hill and was a pain to use. I went from water shortage dilemma to abundance! The only thing I dislike is the electrical connector is a pain to tighten, but I usually tighten by hand. I'll use pliers next time and hope it doesn't break. The screen sometimes get clogged, but I can disconnect the water line and use the head pressure of the line draining to blast it clean.Unrelated to the product, but I use a small amount of calcium hypochlorite (pool shock) to sanitize the water for a week before I push through my particulate filters. The week also gives any sediment a chance to settle so I don't go through filters so often.

Failed
Used the pump 3 times since I purshased it and today when I tried to start it - it failed. And of course the return window closed yesterday. ShurFlo used to be a great product but the last couple I have bought have failed within a year or so. We don't use it daily - we used about once every couple of weeks to fill our big holding tank. In the past these pumps have held up for 2-3 years with only minor adjustments (brushes). Today I am disappointed in the product I bought.

It puts out about a gallon a minute and easily keeps up with my family's water usage demands
I've had this thing wired to a 250 watt 24 volt panel and the shurflow controller for probably 8 months now pushing somewhere in the area of 200 vertical feet of head from my well to storage tank. It puts out about a gallon a minute and easily keeps up with my family's water usage demands. 24vdc supply from Amazon and some creative wiring, and it still pumps in the cloudy winter with no problems...Is it s $4k grunfos that I'll never have to replace? No... but it's easily 1/8 the overall cost.As long as you buy this anticipating having to rebuild or replace it every 2-3 years (depending on usage) they're ducking excellent for the price.

Best solar pump
Best solar or 12/24 volt pumps made. Worth the price and can be rebuilt. Have had one in service for 5 years filling a holding tank from a well a quarter mile away and downhill. Has never failed and never varied in output. Very impressed and bought this one as a backup to service the original if needed. Hope I don't need it, ever.

Very pleased after 3 years
The pump has been installed for about a month and works great. I have it hooked to a single solar panel at a depth of 80 ft. It pumps about a gallon a minute and has good pressure. Solar pumps are not very reliable as a whole so I am hoping to get a few good years out of this one. I will let you know.Updated nov 2017, still going strong, now have on two 24 volt panels. Have had no problems. Make sure you take to time to get a water tight seal on the wiring and it should be trouble free.
