Been wanting to try new shampoos. I am Caucasian with very long hair and it cleans so well. It has a not so basic smell, but there is no artifical ingredients so what you are smelling is the actual herbs put into it. Has more of an earthy non perfumy smell, which I don;t find offensive, just different.My hair feel so soft from using it and I notice it is also good for colored hair and does not strip the hair like most others do. It seems very gentle and cleans well.It does suds up, but not super soapy like others. I love it and will be buying more often.

I have really long, thick, curly, color-treated hair that is always a tangled mess after I wash it. I've broken several combs and cut it short a few times when I've been tired of fighting with it. Over the years I have tried dozen of different products from the inexpensive grocery store brands to the super-expensive salon-types with mixed results. The best of the bunch has generally been Pantene, but I'd probably give it a 3 or a 4 because I need to use a detangler, too. Now, I'm trying to cut out some of the chemical-laden products I've been using, but I didn't really expect to find anything that would work as well. I read the reviews and they seemed mostly positive (unlike a lot of other products that were natural, but didn't seem to work so well), so I ordered the shampoo and conditioner. I've been using it for about a month now and it is fantastic! I use the shampoo and the conditioner and I can comb my hair right out the shower. No more extra leave-ins and moisturizers, etc. It smells great and the texture of my hair is really nice. Once again, it seems nature has provided better solutions than chemicals. I wish I had found this years ago.

this is by far the most eco and body friendly shampoo i have been able to find short of dr. bronner's soaps - you can practically eat it. it smells great, has some groovy multi-racial chicks sporting luscious hair on the packaging, and really does a great job on my hair - and i have a lot of it. amazon has it for a great price which i really appreciate. my only grumble is that they only let you buy 3 in one go, so i have to fill my cart with other things i might not necessarily feel so awesome about. i have been using this shampoo for over 2 years now and definitely won't go back to buying any other product whose ingredients list i cannot pronounce or recognize. VOTE with your dollar and get this product! you won't regret it!

I totally love this shampoo and have been using it for years - it leaves your hair shiny, manageable and very soft.Use it together with the Earthly Delight Conditioner for an optimum outcome. There are cheaper shampoos, but this is soo good for your hair, plus it lasts forever - I find I only have to wash my hair about every 7-10 days without it feeling in any way grotty, plus a little shampoo and conditioner goes a long way. Highly recommended!

Like many other reviewers, I was trying to find a shampoo that replicated the scent of the original green Clairol Herbal Essence from the 70s. This shampoo does smell exactly like I remember it. Other reviewers commented that the smell didn't last very long, which is probably because this shampoo is completely natural and doesn't have phtalates, which make scents last longer. Also, this shampoo was a lot gentler on my hair than the original shampoo was (again, probably due to the natural oils used and lack of parabens, sulfates, etc). If I could review them separately, I'd give the shampoo alone 5 stars.The conditioner is also very effective and gentle on hair. It conditions well without leaving residue. It smells good too--kind of like a spicy cinnamon smell--but I wish they'd used the herbal scent from the shampoo, as the cinnamon scent of the conditioner covers up the wonderful green herbal scent of the shampoo, which is what I was going for. That is the only reason for the 4 stars on the conditioner.

This shampoo had such rave reviews when I read up on it from various sites; I figured it was worth a try. Well, this shampoo has destroyed my hair. The ingredients are really good, but it doesn't work well for me or my husband. This is like any other healthy shampoo, it just doesn't lather. The sudsing agent in this shampoo is about half way down in the ingredient list, so I can see ow why it doesn't lather all that great. So because it doesn't lather much, you end up using ALOT of product just trying to spread it around. I have found just after using it two times, my hair has noticeable breakage and looks fried on the length and ends. For my husband, he noticed he had flakes in his beard after just one use. Such a bummer because I really hoping to like this shampoo. As I said, the ingredients sound awesome, but it just didn't work for us.

Whenever I use this conditioner, my hair feels stronger, is shinier, smells delicious, and feels softer. Nothing else comes close, and I have tried everything from expensive salon brands to cheaper drugstore brands. If Earthly Delight is ever discontinued, I'll just cry! It's that great! A natural product that works. I love it!!!UPDATE: My review was for the ORIGINAL conditioner which was peach colored. The company was sold and the original products are gone. I no longer purchase from this once excellent line of natural hair care. Check the ingredients.
