Lifesaver for a heavy bag
It's a good, basic strap - nothing fancy but gets the job done, and if your purse manufacturer cut corners and didn't bother to include a shoulder strap with a bag that starts out heavy and gets heavier when loaded, you will be happy you bought this - I know I was. I have bought 3 of these in this width so far, which is great to find a strap that isn't so thin. It's a little rough on the underside *shrug* and very basic, but you are not paying fine leatherwork prices either. I would purchase again and glad a LEATHER strap was available.

This is really nice and smooth on one side but very rough and raw on the other. Not very comfortable over the shoulder when wearing anything sleeveless. Appears to be good quality but it is rough and I just wont use it.

Good for converting a purse into a crossbody
I got this to turn a purse with a handle on either side into a crossbody, and indeed it does that. On first use the strap left a black mark on my clothing, which washed out but which freaked me out. The hardware perfectly matches the gold-chain handles of my black leather bag. The clips have a strong spring and are sturdily heavy; I do not worry that they will unclip or break under a heavy load. This strap made my beautiful leather purse useable---as apparently I only wear crossbody bags.

left black oily marks on my white shirt
it's ok. I was happy to have a replacement for my bag strap, and it seems sturdy. but on a warmer day when I was travelling, this left black oily marks on my white cotton tshirt -- which I had to throw out because the stain would not budge.
