Seasame Chili oil is great for cooking many Asian dishes.
For cooking? Great. For storage? Not so great. The bottle is plastic, tall and light in weight. It tends to get knocked over easily. And the oil can come out a little faster than you might desire. But the price is great. The taste is as good, if a little milder, than other brands I have tried cooking with.

Very nice blend of sesame & chili flavors
I really like this Tetsujin Japanese La-Yu (Rayu Japanese Sesame Chili Oil)--which is good because it comes in a large family size, 30oz bottle! It's a good thing, too, that it's so versatile. I have drizzled it as a topping for Tom Kha Kai, and used it to make a spicy tahini peanut butter dressing for noodles, but tonight I stir-fried tofu, green beans, and cauliflower rice with it and it was delicious. No smoking or burning even on high Med-High heat. The aroma is wonderful and the taste a slightly smoky, clear sesame flavor with just enough chili to heighten all flavors and not drown them out. It also didn't pop all over the stove like some oils I have used; really impressed at how well it held it's own at such high heat. This is a lighter oil that works as well in salads as it does in stir fry. Very flavorful, aromatic, and a great value ($19.95 for 30+oz at time of order/review). Yum!!!!!

Nice Size, Nice Flavor and a Bit of Heat, but Seems Nearly 50% Soybean Oil
This is sold as ""Sesame Chili Oil" but I did not realize until tasting that the second ingredient is soybean oil. As I understand the law, they have to put the higher percentage ingredients first, so that means there should be more sesame oil (the first listed ingredient) than soybean oil, but to me it tastes very like there's probably almost as much soybean oil as sesame oil. If you are ok with that going in, then this is a fine product. It has a nice sesame flavor and a bit of heat (not particularly spicy) and I've found it very nice on noodles. It is a pretty large bottle: at 900ml, that's just shy of a liter. That's a good size for a condiment that you will be using to flavor foods rather than for cooking oil.

Very different from your average!
Tetsujin Sesame Chili Oil Japanese - 30.43 Oz (900ml) Family Size... My son is the spicy foods expert around here. His take on this sesame chili oil is that it's flavorful, but "there's something about it that isn't quite right" It's spicy, and it's sesame, but it tasted 'diluted' somehow. I see now on the ingredients list that he was bang-on: it has soybean oil in it as well, so that explains why it didn't taste strongly of sesame, nor of chili.Disappointing - we were hoping for strongly chili-flavored sesame oil.Recommended, but be aware it tastes mostly of soybean oil.

Super versatile chili oil
We eat a lot of Asian cuisine in our household, so this family size bottle of sesame chili oil is perfect. The flavor is excellent for a chili oil, but it’s also not overly spicy. This is great for creating your own sauces, or even to sauté vegetables in! It has a mild kick to it, so even my youngest loves this oil. This will last us a while, so the price is perfect for this 30 oz bottle!

Very Tasty! Only "medium" hot chili oil An adjustable bottle spout would've been handy.
I love this stuff! I've sprinkled it on eggs, added a little to chicken soup and corn soup, and added a splash to a vegetable stir fry. My only quibble is in the size of the mouth of the bottle. It's easy to get a "splash" of chili oil when one only wanted a sprinkle. It is a big plastic bottle and squeezable, and should have an adjustable spout.. My bottles of sriracha are pretty big, and they manage to put a small adjustable spout on their bottles. One can always unscrew the cap on those to pour the sauce. This chili oil IS really tasty--I'll find a small squeeze bottle for some of it.

A good in between
This is a really interesting mix of sesame oil and chili oil. Both of which, I enjoy and use frequently. This oil isn’t quite as fragrant as regular sesame oil and isn’t quite as flavorful as regular chili oil or chili crisp. It’s kind of an in between of both. I like to add in some extra chili crisp when I use this just to add a bit more flavor. I think this will be really good to use in sautés and sauces.
