The Samsonite Winfield 20" Spinner is a stylish and lightweight suitcase that glides beautifully on two or four wheels. After a couple of trips, the suitcase has held up pretty well. It is relatively sturdy and resilient. That being said, the suitcase has limited storage comprised of two compartments separated by a divider with no additional pockets. If you carry on all the time, the suitcase should maintain its sleek look. If you check it in regularly, the suitcase will get scratched up pretty good. And, since the appearance is its main selling point, you may experience buyer's remorse after just a few flights. Since there are no external pockets or compartments, it is a little troublesome to gain access to liquids (for security screening), snacks, books and other small items. You will need to unzip the entire perimeter of the suitcase and expose the suitcase contents to access these items. This can be a bit of an annoyance when trying to get through airport security, especially with those impatient travelers behind you giving you the stink eye.So, if you are looking for a suitcase that looks nice and don't care much about functionality, this one may be for you.

The day after I received this suitcase I took it on a plane ride. I intended to carry it on, but the flight attendants had everyone put every item in the cargo hold below the plane. I got the suitcase back with huge gashes and scratches all over it. Most of them buffed out, but one was just too deep. I guess with a hard shell suitcase this is going to happen. The contents inside were fine. The problem with the interior of the suitcase is that on one side the handle components take up a large portion of the interior leaving you little room for your belongings on that side. I was able to get a whole weekends worth of clothes into the suitcase, so I definitely think it works as a carry on. I just wasn't expecting to have less room that what appears from the photos. It is pretty spiffy looking until it gets all scratched up.

this is the best investment i have made to make my air travel easy! its durable and it fits perfectly well on any domestic flight. Also it packs well for 3 to 4 day trip.having 4 wheels is a great advantage as it reduces the amount of effort needed to pull the suitcase in airports and inside aircrafts. Though these wheels are not designed for roads, so if you walk on rough flooring this is a not a perfect product. This suitcase has been made for frequent flyers!

I like this case but I wish it had some kind of exterior pocket (for a magazine, boarding card, etc.). So far it's held up well.

This has been on one airplane trip so far. No scratches yet but I see how that might happen. But I don't care, it is RED and boy can I pick it out from a heap of other carryons!Update June 2012: Several airplane rides later: Still pleased with purchase. Zipper is holding up, case holds a surprising amount while being very lightweight, wheels and handles still working, and..... I always know which one is mine!

What's shown is a larger version with a side handle. The 20 inch is TINY (not even a weekender!) without a handle. And it scratches easily. Amazon should replace the picture and show people what they actually receive in return for their money. And you can't get the scratches out. Truth in advertising, Amazon.

We fly a LOT on CRJ 700's and 900's and this suitcase slides right into the small overhead bins!It's lightweight, has a LOT of room inside and is easily slid through the airport hallways and up and down the elevators.It scratches. Who cares. I don't. I want to get on the plane, slide my case into the overhead bin and sit down quickly.No more pushing and shoving my rollon computer case hoping it'll fit!

Grrrrrrr. Got it for a trip to Switzerland. By the time we were changing planes in JFK (don't ask! Delta has no direct flights to anywhere but their hubs, and Zurich ain't one) the handle would not extend nor contract without banging it! This is a return! Our other Samsonite spinners work great so I'll try a replacement.
