Robinair 16455 TruTrack Ultrasonic Leak Detector

Pinned down hard to locate leak under van. A little pricy.,but happy with it. Can recommend it to any A/C tech.

This tool is invaluable when looking for leaks. I've used this tool twice in the last two days on two different jobs. On the first job it found a leak at a hose connection and another at the Accumulator after I pressurized the system with nitrogen, the second job found a leaking shaft seal on the compressor. The first job took me longer to charge the system than it did to find the leaks and fix them. The second job I heard the leak before I even had the probe at the compressor. The sound is clear and it was great to be able to let the customer hear the sound of the leak as well.

Have used the leak detector 4 times to find refrigerant a leak in systems that we could not find with multiple sniffer type leak detectors. Even found a refrigerant leak in a sealed wall where a contractor Raj a screw into the line set while installing cabinets. The leak was very small, took the system a year to loose capacity.

purchased 2 units one worked great the other had a small problem with power button but worked great. Amazon is correction the defective unit. My people love the units finding hard to find leaks

I have used all types of A/C detectors that smell freon. With this one it hears the leak( gives you dog hearing) I can pick up leaks from 5 feet away then move it to it as it gets louder, closer to the leek. I retired 2 smell type detectors that i paid 450.00 for . and 2 that i paid 200.00 for. After finding leak I spray dish wash liquid on them to see bubbles.. Some leaks ( 1% )still has to be found with smell detector or dishwash liquid. but I would say this finds 99% of the leaks in less than 3 minutes and using 130-140lbs air pressure. I recover system and use air pressure to test.I am buying a back up now that I can not do about it. have used the one I have for 6 years with no probleams and I droped it a few times. I do automotive air conditioning and 15-20 cars a day in the summer.

Hard to detect in noisy environment BUT it really works better than any leak detector out there found 3 leaks I could not find with 2 other detector’s. Even other Tex’s could not find.WORTH THE MONEY NO REGRETS
