Quality and dependable lighting system-I recommend
The DC710 Octatorch is an excellent light and I definitely recommend it. This is my experience leading to my purchase. Over the past two years I have bought 3 different non-Orcatorch dive lights and each time was disappointed with what I bought. I bought slide and button switch lights, small, medium and larger sized lights but none were of the quality, dependability or functionality I needed. That all changed while diving with a couple buddies this summer. We were diving in late summer with very poor visibility to the point we all activated our lights to be able to see each other in the 0-2 foot visibility. This was a definite safety concern during this dive. Both buddies had Ocratorch light 710’s and I had a small off brand light. Within less than 10 minutes of this hour long dive my light was already showing red indicator of low battery. One of my dive buddies saw this and had an extra Orcatorch 710 back up and handed it to me. I used the 710 light for the rest of the dive. I was amazed at the perfect size that allowed for proper handling and usage. I was very impressed with the Orcatorch’s battery life which had no trouble completing this dive with plenty of battery left. I was impressed with the 710’s quality and functionality and ease of its positive push button operation, light bean power as well of its versatility. Immediately after this dive is when I realized both dive buddies were using exclusively the Ocratorch products as well as tank lights which we also used on this dive. I was sold and purchased the DC710 and tank light immediately. This light has shown to be of high quality and functionality as well as ease of bezzel charging without having to remove the battery. It has impressive battery life and an on/off switch that is also very positive, easy to operate and dependable. I highly recommend the Orcatorch 710 and tank light. I’m pleased with this product and this supplier. Great light and company. I wish I had known of this brand and supplier prior to buying other brands in the past as this is quality product at a reasonable price point.

Powerful SCUBA diving light with impressive specs
The OrcaTorch DC710 is an excellent small backup light for SCUBA night diving or as a primary light for daytime dives where you just need that extra light to look into crevices. It sports some impressive specifications. It can run for over 90 minutes on high, and much longer with the lower modes. It even comes with a turbo mode that works by holding the button down. With a beam angle of 6°, it has a nice focus and lights up whatever you are looking at pretty well. Being waterproof to a depth of 150 meters means that both recreational and technical divers can benefit from it. The power source is a 21700 lithium-ion battery with a 5000 mAh capacity, which is recharged by using the USB-C port on the light itself. The USB-C charging port is neatly hidden under a waterproof cover that rotates for easy access between dives. One cool point is the ¼-threaded mount brackets that make it pair with an OrcaTorch hard or soft Goodman handle.

A great as the D710, but with more features!
I'm a huge fan of my OrcaTorch D710. I have been using it for a few years now and it's the perfect torch for a backup or as a primary recreational torch for night dives and limited visibility. When I heard that they have a new and improved version of it, I had to get one! It totally does not disappoint! They have improved it in more than a few ways. At first glance, it does resemble the D710. I have added a photo with a side-by-side comparison. Also, the light output is identical to the D710, which is a good thing since it is deceptively strong. The narrow beam provides the perfect concentration of light in low visibility environments. What they did change is for the better. First, the hidden USB-C port is awesome. No longer do you need to remove the battery to charge. This is especially convenience if you are using a custom goodman handle that makes removing the battery a pain. Next, it's a little larger and just feels sturdier than the older D710. The slick USB-C cover just gives it a heftier feel, which is nice. Finally, OrcaTorch has improved the wrist mounted glove. The older D710 used an elastic loop to secure the torch. This new DC710 uses an aluminum mount to secure it to the glove. It feels far more secure. There have been a few times with my older D710 where the torch will 'slip out' of the elastic loop during a giant stride only to be saved by the wrist lanyard. That will no longer be a fear with this new mount. The glove also appears to be improved with additional velcro on the strap and a longer strap for cold water 5mm gloves. All in all, it is a wonderful scuba torch. I can't wait to get it in the water as I will be trying it out in Fiji in two weeks. I'll post an update on the underwater performance later. UPDATE: What's better than using a DC710 as primary for night diving? Combining that with the D710! I couldn't resist... I created a goodman style handle that merges my DC710 with my D710... What an amazing primary light. I've added a picture and video of the testing. It's amazing how bright by Orcatorch combo is to other lights in the area.

Diver's best friend
I dove with the OrcaTorch DC710 this last weekend, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! This compact dive light is a powerhouse, delivering an impressive 3,000 lumens of brightness. Whether I was exploring dark underwater or simply checking out marine life, the DC710 provided clear, bright illumination every time. The 21700 lithium rechargeable battery ensures long-lasting performance (full day of diving, 4 dives, and didn't need to recharge) and the USB-C charging port made it super convenient to recharge at the end of the day. I was able to dive for over two hours and a half on high mode without any issues. The four brightness settings and lock function to prevent accidental turn-ons are thoughtful features that add to its versatility and safety. Love that lock function. The build quality is top-notch, with high-strength aluminum construction that feels durable and reliable. It’s clearly designed to withstand the rigors of frequent diving, providing peace of mind that it won’t fail mid-dive. Additionally, its versatility shines through with various brightness settings, making it adaptable to different diving conditions. Despite its robust construction, the DC710 remains lightweight and comfortable to handle, which is crucial during long dives. Its ergonomic design ensures that it fits comfortably in hand, reducing strain and allowing for effortless maneuvering underwater especially in tight areas. Overall, the OrcaTorch DC710 is an excellent dive light that offers great value for money. It's perfect for both beginners and experienced divers looking for a reliable, durable, and powerful light. The combination of durability, versatility, comfort, and lightweight design makes it a standout choice. Highly Highly recommended!

Best dive light - hits way above its cost.
Ordered this light and received it a few days before a big dive trip. Wanted to have an extra light around. And to my surprise, it is now my favorite dive light. I will start with the build quality - top notch! Made of sturdy aluminum and seems to be finely crafted. The battery compartment screws on and off smoothly - a sign that this is well made. The switch also is really nice - no chance of flooding though there. The battery compartment is sealed with 3 o-rings. I am very confident that this will last many years without ever flooding. The package came with two batteries. I always am happy when an extra battery is supplied. Rechargeable batteries, although long lasting, do not last forever. One of the really nice and convenient things about the light is how you charge it. You do not need to remove the battery in order to charge it. You can twist open a "collar" on the lights and reveal a USB charging port right on the light. After you finish charging (which lasts about 2 hours) you just close the collar to hide the charging port and to keep it dry. The light itself performed admirably under water both during day and night dives. It is extremely bright and pierces through the water. The beam travels very far - just note this is not a video light. It is more suited for spotting things and looking into crevices. I found that the light will last at full power for about an hour and a half. Not bad at all! Another thing that I love about the light is that it comes with a glove. I always like using gloves with diving lights - they are very convenient - extremely easy to point the light exactly where I want it to go and it keeps my fingers free so I can grab something without dropping the light. I particularly like this glove as it is designed specifically to work with this light. It screws directly into a bracket that is on the light and I know I will never lose it. I really enjoyed using this light. Just very bright and very convenient to use.

Very bright and usable
Edit: After the negative experience I talked about below, the seller reached out and sent over a replacement at no cost. So far the replacement has been working great. I’ve used it on 6 dives since. Customer support has been way above average and I appreciate the help. I will update this review again if anything changes. Original Review Trusted this light for my first night dive and it broke in the first 10 mins at 35 feet. Everything was sealed properly and it’s dry on the inside, but the button stopped working and it got stuck on turbo mode and would not turn off. Total garbage.

Small but powerful light with convenient charging port
The new Orcatorch DC710 is unique among dive lights in having both a convenient charging port on the light and replaceable batteries. With most lights, you have to choose between being able to swap out batteries or being able to charge directly to the light. The DC710 uses a non-proprietary USB-C charging cable (included) to charge the 5000 mAh 21700 battery through a concealed charging port. A spare battery is also included. The DC710 is about 1 cm longer in length and the same diameter as the popular Orcatorch 710. Like its predecessor, the DC710 has three continuous power levels plus an ultra-bright 3000 lumen turbo level. There is a “safe lock” function to prevent the light from turning on by accident. The side button allows for easy switching between modes and has a battery power indicator. The DC710 is equipped with a bracket module to attach the included hand-mount. This mount is comfortable, can be used on either hand, and can be adjusted to fit a wide range of hand sizes. It holds the DC710 securely on the back of the hand allowing full use the hand. My in-water testing was performed in murky water due to recent storms. But, this allowed the focused 6-degree beam angle and brightness of the DC710 to really shine! The narrow beam combined with turbo mode made it easy to get the attention of my dive buddy despite the poor visibility. The Orcatorch DC710 definitely earns a five star review. The only thing I’d like Orcatorch to add is a special edition purple DC710.

Ultimate Dive Light - Bright, Durable, and Reliable!
I've been using the OrcaTorch DC710 for a few weeks now, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. This dive light is incredibly bright, with a powerful beam that illuminates even the darkest corners underwater. The 3000 lumens output is impressive, and the beam spread is perfect for both wide area coverage and focused lighting. The build quality is excellent. With high-quality materials that feel solid in hand, and it’s clearly designed to withstand the harsh underwater environment. I've taken it on several deep dives, and it’s held up flawlessly at depths of over 100 feet with no water intrusion or performance issues. One of the standout features is the ease of use. The magnetic switch is smooth and reliable, and I love the ability to switch between different brightness levels easily depending on the situation. The battery life is also superb – I’ve done multiple long dives on a single charge without worrying about it dying mid-dive. Overall, the OrcaTorch DC710 is a fantastic piece of equipment for any serious diver. If you’re looking for a bright, durable, and reliable dive light, I highly recommend this one!
