A great mower that's easy to assemble
I spent a lot of time searching for a new mower when my Flymo of many years blew up in spectacular style. I had been looking in the 80-90 pound range and the reviews were all mixed and quite often the machines looked naff - like they might not last long. I decided to spend a little more and this mower kept coming up in reviews for being excellent.I did my research on it and the only consistent thing was people saying the grass collection box was hard to assemble. I actually found this NOT to be the case. I was able to assemble very quickly and within minutes had it ready for use. The manual isn't great for assembly instructions, but it's not useless either. I could see why some people might say that but honestly the box is not hard to assemble at all. Simply use one has inside the box to support the inside and one pushijg from the outside and do a single clip at a time.I've used it several times now and it's a joy to use. Cuts really well and I particularly like the depth of cut adjustment lever. I find this to be a nice addition as my old mower required me to remove the blade and add washers. The lever is very easy to adjust and clicks into position. Grass collection is very good and I find is quite efficient.Overall this is a sturdy and well made mower and I'd highly recommend it. I've never used mountfield before but it feels like a brand of quality.

The best example of an electric power lawnmower.
I looked at several different makes and models of lawnmower before buying the mountfield. My girlfriend prefers the electric rather than petrol, I personally prefer the petrol but we came to a compramise. No hover mowers! Our old mower which was a flymo was lighter but with poor build quality in comparison to the mountfield. The mower arrived this morning, 4 days earlier than originally stated. It was very well packaged and all the necessary components needed to assemble it were included in the box. The instructions were visual diagrams and well numbered so assembly took no time at all. All I needed took wise was a medium Phillips screwdriver, the rest was hand tight and snap together. From opening the box to finished assembled mower it took 15 mins. I set the height and mowed the sloped lawn in front of the house, it cut beautifully and made lovely stripes in the lawn. It now looks smart and neat. I used the mulch plate and it worked out well, I would highly recommend this product for any garden. Very quiet and also a generously long power cable. My girlfriend also thought it was very sleek and is delighted that i choose to by mountfield.

Good piece of kit.
I replaced the lawn so decided to treat it with a new mower. This replaced the same Mountfield model which has served me well for over 20 years! The old model still works perfectly as far as the motor goes but the height adjustment has broken. Unlike other parts of the machine, I have been unable to repair that otherwise I would have just carried on. It's good that spare parts , large and small, can easily be found. The blade is solid metal and can be removed for sharpening rather than buying a new one every year.Instructions on assembly are not brilliant and rely on deciphering pictures. The instruction book itself is very thick but that is due to the dozens of languages it covers! The actual extent of user instruction is minimal. The basics have changed little in the 20 years and it is still a quiet operation and light to operate. As yet, the weather hasn't allowed me to put it into use but I have every confidence in the makers. The roller is designed to give the pattern when on low settings.Delivery was very quick and the price is good, especially if it can last another 20 years or more.

Great lawnmower.
For years I’ve been using a cylindrical blade mower & I’ve been very reluctant to change to a rotary bladed one. I couldn’t find an electric one & didn’t want to pay the price for a petrol model, so I took the plunge and bought this Mountfield model . It’s more than lived up to the great reviews that others have given. Fantastic, it cuts right up to the lawn edges & gives a very clean cut. Easy to clean too. I hope it lasts for a few years but when it finally dies I wouldn’t hesitate to buy the same model again. Superb.

The 'Princess' amongst small mowers......
I had my Princess 14 for eleven years of excellent service, so the latest Princess was always going to be the replacement and I'm not disappointed. First let me say what a fantastic service I had from Garden Machines of Northampton who initially said delivery was 8-10 days away but when I emailed saying I was going on holiday: it arrived in two...excellent service...The assembly is ok once youv'e found the English language amongst the other 27 in the manual and then decphered which model you have in order to follow the correct diagrams. Why you can't just have the English beats me! The only less easy bit to assemble is the grass box as other reviewers have mentioned. It needs patience to line up all the plastic clips and then I foiund that one or two didn't quite go right home. Nevertheles, it didn't fall to bits during use. This is a grand little mower for small gardens: it's lightweight, easy to operate, easy to manoeuvre. It has a very simple height adjuster lever and the roller leaves could markings. The grass box takes a good quantity and it is easy to remove. I thoroughly recommend...

Great little mower which does the job well
Did a lot of research before buying this lawnmower. I will be downsizing house and lawn, so didn’t want to buy a mower for a big lawn, although my current lawn is huge.It is easy to use and not too heavy so I can move it around quite easily. I have only cut on the original setting so far, but it is just right.I did have an issue with some of the side screws which would not go fully in. They have had to remain sticking out a bit. Also had an issue putting the grass in together (which I had read about in various reviews) but got there eventually, only cutting my hand once! All in all I am pleased with it.

Good product
Great for medium size garden. The mower is light to use and has variable and adjustable heights that just slot into place. I just wish the grass cutting box were a little bigger in capacity. Overall a great purchase and within budget.
