Wow! Fine grind ruins device.
I found this device to be messy and klunky to operate. The only practical place to use it is in the sink. While traveling, which is obviously the situation where you would tend to use this, I took my favorite bag of coffee to Starbucks to have it espresso ground and apparently they ground it too fine and ruined the filter basket.When I corresponded with Hugh about the problem they told me sorry, that's your problem. Really? A fine grind is all it takes to ruin your product? I'll never buy another product from Hugh again.

Its an amazing product that produces excellent espresso shots! Love it for the travels as a great quality coffee maker. The one downside to it is that there are too many pieces to clean and assemble after every cup, and the diffuser part falls off in the coffee cup as its not properly designed to screw into the ring of the portafilter.
