This was my first Laurie Gilmore book and I did hear the first book was a way better than this one,I did assume this was a fun little small town romance with fall vibes but it was centered around summer and somewhere along the lines the story took a turn from being cute and slightly naughty to heavy on spice atleast the ending was cute but it could have been better yk,I am still sad at the fact that this isn't an autumn romance like I had hoped it was. I am guilty of skimming through certain parts but I was there for all the cute Noah and Hazel moments and we did have potential for a lot of fun moments and a better plot.I do agree that the Hazel Noah moments had all the cute classic rom come elements and I was expecting a bit more of those,their chemistry is definitely something that carries the whole book.Pick this one up if you want a spicy small town romance with a book girl and a boy who loves a bit of trouble falling for each other.

This was such a cute, spicy read. I love the slow narrative that ends with a strong punch. But I would have loved more character development and a little bit of twists in the plots. The writing is good, both the quality and style.

The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore by Laurie Gilmore is the second book in the Dream Harbor series, following the success of The Pumpkin Spice Café. I made sure I read the first book before I set myself up to read this one. It is a delightful cozy mystery filled with romance and small-town charm. The story revolves around Hazel Kelly, the manager of the Cinnamon Bun Bookstore (the name of the store keeps changing), who discovers mysterious messages hidden in books throughout her store. Books each time are made to stand crooked in shelves which when opened have dog ears in a page which hold clues that are highlighted. Hazel initially is hesitant and tries to hide it from Noah when he makes a sudden appearance. Noah is a handsome hunk whose had a crush on her for years. Noah also gives her a slight nudge to follow these clues. Hazel who’s wanted to do something adventurous and interesting once she turns thirty in a few days is determined to uncover the source of these clues, and solicits the help of Noah. As they follow the trail of clues, their undeniable chemistry leads to a blossoming romance. It’s all lovey-dovey at many places, I especially loved the encounters at the blueberry bushes. But I felt it got spicier at many places, and I felt an overdose.

First time purchasing books from Cocoblu Retail, not satisfied. My biggest fear was authenticity,although books are authentic but not in good condition. Bent and foxing(Brown spots) on two books. Books appears to grimy as taken from untouched warehouse. Biggest drawback is terrible packing, books were not in order, scattered, loosely packaged so little bit torned. They really need to work on their packaging and provide clean new books.

I have been reading the Dream Harbour series, first I read book 1, then book 3 and now book 2. It's nothing groundbreaking, but a light and fluffy cosy read.

Ich konnte nicht widerstehen „The Cinnamon Bun Book Store zu lesen, nachdem ich„ The Pumkin Spice Cafe “ aka "Meet me in autumn" gelesen hatte. Ich konnte nicht auf die deutsche Ausgabe warten und habe auch dieses Buch geliebt!! Perfekt für den Herbst. Dieses ist das absolut süßeste Buch! Ich habe nicht so viel gelacht wie beim Ersten, aber dieses Buch war evtl. sogar noch besser als das erste in der Serie und ich war mir nicht sicher, ob das überhaupt möglich ist. Hazel und Noah sind absolut perfekt zusammen. Noah ist mitfühlend, einfühlsam und möchte wachsen, besser werden. Für Hazel und seine Familie. Dieses Ende und die Gesten, die er machte ..... Oh mein Gott. Es hat so viel Spaß gemacht, wieder zu Dream Harbor zurückzukehren und Charaktere aus dem vorherigen Buch wieder zu treffen. This book was honestly was everything I’d ever want in a contemporary romance book. It was the perfect blend of romance, sexual tension, spice, life lessons and relatable and wonderfully written characters. I could not have asked for more. The story focuses on 29 year old Hazel, who is soon to be turning 30. She’s sad and almost regretful for her ‘boring’ and ‘unadventurous’ life and. As someone in her late 20s, this is something that I really resonated with - wondering if you should have spent your 20s different and done more and had more stories to share and no regrets and have lived a life when you hit 30. Suddenly, Hazel finds clues in the books from the bookstore she works in, clues that make her think she should be more adventurous and in turn, follow those clues. So she recruits Noah. Who is, to her and the little town of Dream Harbour, the definition of adventurous. I loved Hazel and Noah’s relationship when they popped up in The Pumpkin Spice Café so was over the moon when we got this story focusing on them. I think their personalities work so well together (I know it’s usually weird to have someone so extroverted and adventurous with someone quiet and less so) but they worked brilliantly. The author made Noah inspiring for Hazel and didn’t push her, just gently supported her in the direction she wanted to go In, and helping her to realise what she had always known about herself (that she isn’t boring and that she is sexy) The relationship spice wise between the two was just perfect. They both had the hots for each other and it was made obvious at the start. So the rest of the book was their relationship developing and them both growing together (party boy Noah wanting to settle down and quiet insecure Hazel finally being confident and loving herself). The insane mutual pining was perfect and I’d argue that it wasn’t miscommunication as they both did communicate but they were both pining so much that they couldn’t see what see in front of them Also the spice?!? PERFECT. Noah also went through some character development: realising that he didn’t have to follow his family’s footsteps and could amount to anything he wanted to. Honestly this book? Absolutely beautiful and fun and cozy. Though I will say it’s less of a fall/autumn read as it takes place at the end of summer start of autumn/fall This book hit the feels in every aspect and I will be reading this again and again
