I used this to illuminate a small glass sculpture and I am very pleased with it. The LED lights do not use much energy, and since this device uses three AA batteries, I'm confident it will last for a fair amount of time before there is a need to either change or recharge the batteries.The device is well designed, and the on/off button is easy to press thereby making it less likely to knock the art sculpture off the platform when turning on the light. Honestly, it is so nice; makes me want to get more glass sculptures.

I highly recommend this if you are looking direct light to a certain area. I use this as a base for a glass heart bought for mother's day. Wish it came with a usb charger not just battery powered.

I purchased the Santa Cruz Lights Rotating Programmable Stand Base for Crystal Glass Art to replace a failed rotating base that I had used for several years, on top of which was a crystalline Eiffel Tower. The Santa Cruz rotating base looked very much like the original one and was a perfect replacement. The LEDs are spectacularly bright and the numerous available lighting patterns provide a significant amount of flexibility to one's lighting scheme. The only problem that I've found with this rotating base is that it makes a very audible grinding sound as it rotates. Once your ears "key" to that sound there's no way to ignore it. My original rotating base was silent as it rotated, but this one sounds like it has rusty bearings in it as it turns. I noticed, in videos submitted to Amazon.com by others, that the pronounced grinding sound was present in those, too. However, when the grinding sound starts to get to me I just turn off the rotation, but leave the lights flashing, and it still looks great.

It’s great, got it to hold a glass decorative oil lamp. Lamp is pretty heavy for size and it turns it well. Light changing feature is wonderful

Excellent base light for many objects. I use several of these for paperweights and crystal towers. Note that the base is not solid all the way across; the lights are not covered by glass, so whatever you wish to illuminate should be at least 1 inch across at the bottom for stability.

I am using this for a glass cast jellyfish that weighs a lot. I was worried that it was going to be too much but I'm glad to say it was not. The other thing I like is the controllable options compared to similar items. White light, several color transitions, or no light. spin or no spin. sounds simple enough but many did not have just white light. most had changing colors as its only selection. Also, it's whisper quite. Hoping to be helpful. happy shopping!

I ordered this because description said plug it in. I have a lighted base battrey operated and dont like replacing batteries wanted a electric one. So ordered this and it also battery operated. AA x3. Aggrevating when you take the time to check description and still get screwed.

I bought this so I could display a glass jar filled with rocks collected on a vacation. The jar absolutely fills with light when the stand is beneath it, lending to a beautiful look. Only problem is, the top of this product (the actual platform that the jar sits on) is very slick. It's made of a very smooth plastic that does no service to gripping what is above it. With less than a pinky finger of force, I can make the jar slide. I thought maybe I would display a crystal instead, it had the same effect. I then moved along to a shot glass; same effect. Eventually, I chose to simply keep the stand on a shelf so no one could touch it. Not happy with that though.

It looks wonderful! We have an acrylic square of our beloved pet who passed away two years ago. Sitting on this stand with lights on makes the entire piece look lovely. We are very happy with this item.

Totally overpriced considering the quality.Also, fingerprint stains when opened; looks used.
