I purchased one of these kits a few months ago for an old honda 650, to power my phone and GPS while on long rides. After several months of experience with it, I needed another one for a different motorcycle and so purchased it again. I love it. It is easy to install, contains all of the pieces and parts needed to install, and it works just fine. I like that it has an illuminated on/off button and that the entire unit is waterproof. No complaints, no problems - for the price, it is an awesome device. Well done!

Using this for 2 plus years and working great

I installed this on my Ducati today. I had an older version of this device I bought years ago. It worked well but then stopped working recently. Same square device, same push button so I presume this is from the same company but no way to know if that is true. I got the new one a week ago and just now had the time to install it. I didn't think to test the thing before I install it so was surprised that the indicator doesn't work after getting it installed. The device charges so that is good but I have no way of knowing if it is on without plugging in my phone. Not going to return it because it is a pain to do this kind of installation so I will just have to check my phone before I am done riding to make sure that it is not on. I'm sure it doesn't pull much current when not charging... but still don't want to drain my battery if not needed. Otherwise, no surprises with the installation and operation. I did notice they substituted some non-rustable parts for ones that were rusting on my old setup. I don't understand when someone makes something that is supposed to be out in the elements and any part of it would actually rust. It does work! I can charge my phone again now so that is good.

I bought another popular USB port that doesn't have a switch and believed the erroneous comments that it wouldn't run down my battery/wouldn't matter. It did. Removing the seat to plug/unplug for every use to prevent battery drain was tedious, so I went looking for a unit with a switch. Pros: Switch!! Adequate length to run back to the battery under the seat with about a foot left over. Zip ties included! Cons: The included rubber shims were inadequate thickness to secure mount to my bars, so I had to develop a workaround. The detachable mount does not click in to secure the USB port like it is designed to, but I think it will still be ok. Should have been designed with a simple way to zip tie it directly to bars and skip the mounting problem altogether. The unit is 2 pieces: handlebar mount w/rubber shims to add thickness and the USB part that slides onto the mount. It looks like the port is supposed to click into the mount at the bottom of the slide, but the plastic spring retainer does not have enough pressure to securely click it in, so it slides up and down with manipulation. I don't think it will wiggle out though. Why would you need a quick release when the wiring is snaked through the body, zip tied, and connected to battery under seat? There is no reasonable need for a quick removal option, so I think this is an ill-thought out "feature" that is useless. Not a critical flaw. -0.1 star My major installation problem was even with using all rubber shims inside the mount it was still sliding around the bar loosely. I have a 2014 Suzuki VStrom 650 for reference. Thankfully, I had some old spare parts from past bicycle and motorcycle handlebar mounts (I never throw anything away like that for this very reason), so the three included + one more of my spare shims got it tight. You can see in the close up pic that there is a wider and very thick rubber shim closest to the metal. That is the one I had lying around and shows how far off on sizing this was! With no back-up option to easily zip tie it directly to the bars, that was a near miss. -0.9 stars. Previous port had ability to zip tie directly to the bars. I wish this one did because it would have saved me some frustration and I'd have given installation 5 stars. Everything else is great. Love the illuminated switch! The installation is a small up front headache that will drift into the past as this thing continues to do what it was designed for.

I like it. Just installed it yesterday and had a chance to test it while riding my KLR-650. It kept my phone charged. The ON/OFF button is a must. The button allowes to turn the charger off when the bike is not being used, to keep the battery from being discharged. My bike has a single cylinder engine. It does have some vibration. The rubber spacers on the handlebar clamp are made of soft rubber and it effectively cuts down vibration on the charger. I had to install an additional 5A fuse near the battery terminal, for safety. It's very important as it will prevent a fire caused by a shorted wire. All electrical appliances on the vehicle should be fused as close to the battery terminals as practical. So far, I'm happy with the charger and would recommend it to anyone.

Great product for the motorcycle, can power two devices at once. Not the most durable as the internal USB connector broke within a year with very little use. I liked it so much I bought another one but it will be required to handle it gently. It should be more durable and not break so easily.

when I put it in my motorbike at the beginning I was confused and I did not turn on the power I did not press the on - on switch to operate and did not charge the phone after I realized my mistake is a nice and convenient charger !!!!it would be better and more helpful for the customer if with the charger you gave it and something that keeps the usb on the steering wheel bar I put a tape until I find what I will put on;
