I recently purchased this PowerSmart 18-Inch Gas Push Lawn Mower, and after a month of regular use, I am thoroughly impressed. My yard is about 0.25 acres, and this machine handles the entire area flawlessly.The 144cc 4-cycle OHV engine delivers reliable power and starts up effortlessly every single time. I really appreciate the 2-in-1 versatility; switching between mulching and side-discharge is incredibly simple and convenient. Additionally, the 5-position adjustable cutting height allows me to easily customize the lawn's look depending on the season.It is lightweight, easy to maneuver around trees, and highly efficient. For anyone managing a quarter-acre property, this mower offers fantastic value and outstanding performance. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a dependable yard care solution!

I got this mower today, unpacked it, and assembled it. Everything is pretty straightforward, but I followed the manual anyway. Most of it comes pre‑assembled — all I had to do was attach the front wheels, bolt on the upper handle section, and tighten the screws with the included knobs. I hooked the pull‑start cord into the guide on the side and clipped the control cable to the handle for the auto‑stop bar.I added some Pennzoil 10W‑30 and fresh gas, primed the carburetor, and it started on the second pull. It’s a little smaller than I expected, but it runs well and it’s surprisingly quiet. I barely noticed it was mowing.It also comes with a grass chute cover that screws on. It would be nice if it were a quick‑release style instead of fixed, but it works fine.Overall, I think I’ve got a solid mower that should last me several summers. At 18 inches, it should get my yard done pretty quickly. It glides across the yard easily and has decent height adjustments, whether you’re cutting overgrown grass or want a lower, cleaner cut.I spent a little more than I planned, but I think it was worth the extra money. I’d say wait until winter to buy one for a better price — the downside is you usually don’t realize you need a new mower until summer. And no, they didn’t include oil or gas in the box… just kidding about the gas, but oil would’ve been nice.

After a couple mows, the product works as has hoped. Easy assembly and started up on the first pull each time. It is not self-propelled, however it is light enough where it is easy to maneuver.

Of note:I chose the 144-cc engine over the Briggs and Stratton version, because I wanted more power for mulching. I would have preferred using the Briggs and Stratton engine, since that's all I've ever owned, but the power was not as high as the other option. So far, this has been the right choice. It remains to be seen over the years if it will last as long as a B&S.What I Liked:I've used this mower now for 4 mowings of my lawn. It has performed well and I'm quite satisfied. It was very easy to put together and the instructions were clear. It feel light, starts easily, and the engine is not nearly as loud as my previous mower. It mulches well and I very much like the one lever that adjusts the mowing height on all four wheels at once!What I didn't Like:Like many mowers of its kind, you have to prime the engine prior to starting it. The primer "button/bulb" is made of a stiff, rubber-like material. Because of its stiffness, you have to push it very quickly to get any gas flowing into the carburetor. You can feel it when it's working (and when it's not). So priming the engine takes about 5 or 6 pushes to get enough gas in there to start the engine easily. Hopefully, this button will soften up over time and priming will be easier. This is a minor annoyance and not a real problem.Unlike many mowers of its kind, this mower has a rubber "skirt" fastened to the back of the deck. I imagine this exists to protect you from flying debris should you run over something that could potentially fly out the back. A nice idea, but poorly designed. This flap tends to slide under the mower when you pull it back toward you. Mine got under there AND detached from one side of the deck and then got caught in the blade, which promptly chewed it up. So no more "skirt" for me (see photos). But - I really don't care, because none of my other mowers have ever had such a thing and I highly doubt anything will ever hit me flying out the back. If it does, I'll come back here and let you know. This cost them one star on this review.The bottom line:This is a quality mower at a good price. It works well, except for the rubber "skirt", and is a good replacement for my previous mower. I recommend!

Very lightweight and compact. It literally took just 10 minutes to assemble. Easy start...started up on the very first pull.My only issue was that it did not come with a starter container of oil like all my mowers in the past had. So, I had to run to the store to get one before I could use the mower.Smooth cutting and low noise...all in all, I feel it's a good mower for a good price.

I purchased this mower when I bought my house in April 2026. I really enjoy how efficient it is and how easy it is to use. Assembly was very easy as well. I really like how it goes right over the super thick spots in my lawn without stalling! Gas lasts a while too, and I have a decent amount of yard to cut. I would definitely recommend to purchase this model or brand.

I bought this mower for my small yard and so far I’m very happy with it. It was easy to assemble, started quickly, and cuts grass evenly. The mower is lightweight so it’s easy to push and move around the yard.The height adjustment is simple to use and the engine has enough power for regular lawn care. I also like that it doesn’t take up too much space in the garage.Overall, this is a good value for the price and works well for basic home use. Would recommend for small to medium yards.

Decent little mower, assembly was easy, starts on first pull, light weight to push, great for trimming around wife's flower gardens.
