Beautiful little chocolate tulip cups -- just add your favorite filling
I bought a few of these boxes for a party recently. After making a batch of pot de crème and waiting for it to cool, I then piped it into these lovely shells and decorated the tops with a raspberry, blueberry, and small mint leaf. Everyone raved about how pretty they looked -- but they tasted even better. It made for a delicious, easy, and showy individual dessert. The quality of the chocolate in these shells is remarkably good. I mostly only bought them for their "looks" and was sort of expecting a cheaper, waxy chocolate taste. Thinking that the flower shells would likely not be eaten (or perhaps just nibbled on the top edges), I was surprised instead to find guests finishing off their cups after eating the filling. The shells are almost 2 inches in diameter across the open top and a smidge more than 1.5 inches tall. They hold not quite a third of a cup (or almost 2 oz liquid) when filled to the top of the slightly scalloped edge. This was a perfect size for an extremely rich dessert like pot de crème. While the shells would be pretty filled with fresh berries or other fruit, the small size might be limiting, though.Overall, I was very pleased with them (although I find them sort of pricey) and I like the fact that they're made in the USA. They come well packaged in an individually formed plastic inner sleeve that protects each shell and their edges from damage from anything other than total crushing. Mine arrived in fine shape but I'm deducting half a star since some of them (about 10%) were pretty much only the single-tone chocolate rather than the pastel-colored white chocolate sweeps up the side that make them look tulip-ish. I recognize that, in the making of nice chocolate confections, that each will not be identical, but I expected that quality control would weed any out that didn't have at least a minimal amount of lighter pastel flower shading.Note: The details on the product page are a little confusing. The first bulletized point clearly states "6 cups in a box" but then, immediately below that, it says, "Twelve perfectly shaped, completely edible flower cups." Until such time as they correct the product page info, I just wanted to clarify that there are only SIX chocolate cups per box.

Better for fruit
They are too small of a scoop of ice cream. Better for fruit, but they do make a beautiful presentation.

I would buy again..
They came on time. No cups were broken. I love the fact that the colors are derived from natural sources and not artificial food coloring. I filled them with raspberry sorbet with berries on top alongside chocolate covered strawberries on Valentine's Day.

chocolate cups
The cups were smaller than anticipated. Even though the size was given the size was surprisingly small even for a bite size dessert.

just perfect
These make a beautiful presentation for 'pudding shots' at a bridal shower. Hold just the right amount, and taste good too.

They are a good sized cup and taste delicous
These were a huge hit at a birthday party for children and adults. They are a good sized cup and taste delicous. I filled them with chocolate mousse and crushed oreo cookies. Very easy and fun!
