Fantastic switch.
I love this thing. I slopped together a bunch of ancient stereo equipment that I had with some stuff that I got for free and use it for my home theater PC and 4K disc player. To get everything set up the way I needed, I had to split off the audio via Optical and this switch works perfectly for that - auto switching between my PC and 4K disc player. The remote is handy in case you want to switch back and forth, but I don't need to so I rarely have to use the remote - which is super nice to have on the off-chance I need to because the unit is buried inside a pile of home electronics which is clearly a fire hazard... Works perfectly and is worth every penny.

Great for automation
Item performs excellently. Needed to switch between optical outputs between a speaker system and headphones, and this does that seamlessly. I don't even need the remote since it auto senses the source and switches automatically. No more need to play around with selecting inputs on any of my audio device.

Works just as it should, but bad patch cable supplied
We bought this so that we could take the optical audio outputs from our BluRay player and cable box, and send them both into our surround sound receiver. We found that we were not getting a full surround signal through the HDMI connections to our TV and then the optical output from the TV to the receiver. Now the receiver gets the full signals. This automatic switch detects which device has an active output and automatically selects it for the receiver. The manual switching (with both buttons on the device and via a small remote) also works well, but we have had no need to use it beyond testing since the automatic switching works so well. Overall, this switcher is very simple to use once setup correctly. As others have noted, the blue LEDs are quite bright, so we keep the unit tucked behind our TV, out of sight. The only negative (for which we deducted a star) is that the supplied 1m optical cable we received does not work. At first we thought the unit itself was defective, but as soon as we swapped the supplied 1m cable with our own optical cable, the unit worked perfectly. It was not worth initiating a return of the unit just for the cable, but we're sure we could have. As for durability, it is too early to tell. Fortunately, our TV's USB ports do not supply power to the switcher unless the TV is powered on. We've found that many of these USB-powered A/V devices tend to overheat, which shortens their lifespan. So having the unit powered up only when it is being used will hopefully prolong its life. We'll post an update if we experience any issues. But for now, our verdict is: Recommended!

Auto Changes and Works Great!
Works as describes and sounds great. The remote is a bonus but I have no need for it or use it. I guess if you are having multiple feeds playing at once but I am using it to change sources on my TV and only have intentions of playing audio on once device at a time.

Not bad, but not perfect
Decent quality. Works for switching going from the computer and the TV to the soundbar. The auto switching is not effective. Stays on TV audio when using computer, but will switch to TV from computer.

I have an analogue 5.1 sound system that lacks a good Dolby Prologic 2 feature (to have a good pseudo 5.1 effect on stereo content), so I got the Southsky 5.1 DAC which does that awesome for a great price. But it lacks automatic switching between SPDIF inputs and also a remote control to do that manually, as I wanted to also use a Bluetooth receiver in addition to the Android TV Box I already have connected to it. So I found this device which has the AUTO function (rare function to find) and also a remote control (which I don't use, because I only use one input at a time and the AUTO function works perfectly) and also SPDIF inputs and output for a great price. It works perfectly, I have now 3 sources connected: Android TV Box, Bluetooth receiver and the TV output itself (for when I want to use integrated apps instead of Android Box or have TV sound in real 5.1 or the pseudo 5.1 effect with the DAC I use). For powering I use a smart socket with remote control, so I don't miss a physical on-off button at all.

Chapeau !
