This is a masterpiece of workmanship. Strong Magnet that can even hold my iPad pro 11 (once I put a Magsafe ring on the case). Even while driving on rough roads. I use my iPad for avigation as I prefer Copilot GPS App to Google or Apple Maps and it does not work with car play yet. I also shoot a good bit of videos with my iPhone and the 2 cold shoe slots on the back work great for adding a light and external shotgun mic. The 1/4 20 hole allows it to be used with most tripods or other photography accessories like the magic are I am using in the accompanying photos. All around 5 Stars for this LEAPLUMIN mount! I use a magnetic phone holder in my car and it works great to quickly set my phone up on the dash of my car, so I thought why not have something for my tripod. I tried making a magnetic mount myself using a few rare earth magnets from the hardware store, but it never held very securely. This mount however, holds very tightly and is still small enough when attached to my tripod, as to not take up a lot of space in my backpack. It’s a simple devise that adds a lot of versatility to your camera phone. Pair it with an inexpensive remote shutter button and you’re all set.

Umm, so as far as the magnetic part it definitely does the job. It was actually too strong and low key broke my case so I added an extra ring magneted onto it first to make its use go on and off easier and now it works fine. If you use it as is, you might not be able to get your phone off with a case in one piece or tbd the tape will probably rip off your magnet first because it's that powerful. It's sturdy and stays screwed in. I haven't used the hot shoe clamps in it yet but I'd trust them to work based on how hardy the rest of the product is. My specific use case is just attaching to a tripod clamp on my gaming chair for convenient access.
