Shoyo Hinata isn't a large guy, but he's got huge ambitions: to become the next big thing in high school volleyball. Unfortunately, his junior high team was trashed in their first and only match. But now that he's enrolled in a high school with a top volleyball program, things are going to be different. There's just one problem: Tobio Kageyama, whose team beat Hinata's and is already considered a star player, is attending the same school. Can a kid out of nowhere hold his own against the King of the Court? Or could the rivalry and competition actually be the best thing for both of them? Get ready for a knock-down, throw-down, ultimate showdown barrage of volleys, spikes, and blocks as two rivals face off in HAIKYU!!

Love this show especially the Dub
This show is absolutely incredible and one that my family and I rewatch frequently. My brother and I were super upset when they took the dub off Netflix so we bought this and are so happy to have it

A very nice box set
A very nice box set. The extras are good, especially the book filled with translated inverviews from the original seiyuu. I also love the birb pins. They are metal and very nice (and adorable!) The set includes both the full season on DVD AND Bluray. It also has the original Japanese tracks with subtitles if you aren't into dubs.About the dub: It's honestly not bad. I didn't have particularly high hopes for it, but it's passable. Some of the cast is even increadibly good. Hinata in particular is really great. Fantastic performance. There's some script writing things I take issue with, but it's by no means a *bad* dub. It's not one that will go down in history as one of the best dubs, but it's watchable. It does its job. At moments it even does its job well. I initially took issue with some of the voices, but overall in context they are fine. Some of them seem like they aren't the best casting choices, but the performances themselves aren't bad. And Hinata really is great. I liked Sugawara, Tanaka, and Oikawa in particular as well.

Finally a complete set of season 1!
I've been waiting for a while for the show to come in a complete set with an English dub. The price is a little high considering the fact that there's no bonus content and that it just comes in a plain case with no dust jacket or booklet. I really love the dub though, there was a lot of dialogue in the background that I missed watching it subbed, this is one of the few cases where I feel like I prefer the dub. I'm pretty sure this is the way they'll be printing the seasons from now on. If you want your volumes to match, Sentai Flimworks has a complete set of season 2 scheduled to release in early April 2018, there are also collectors sets available which you can find on the Sentai Flimworks site.

I love Haikyu but...
I absolutely love this show. But they changed not only the phrasing and terminology for the dubbed version they completely changed the subtitled version as well. I found that particular scenes had their meanings changed because of the new phrasing as well as a change in the emotion and impact of scenes. Some of the insightful volleyball terminology and explanations ended up making no sense in the new version. My biggest peeves I have is that they call Hinata's idol "the tiny giant" instead of the "little giant", or they literally say "upperclassman" instead of sempai........That being said this is still an amazing show that is very dear to me and made me fall in love with the characters and sport again and again. I definitely hope that more people watch it hopefully with the original subtitles (I use crunchyroll).

Disappointing
I'm a huge fan of Haikyu series and ordered this set immediately. I'm so disappointed with it when I received it. For the high price I paid for this "premium" box set, I expected better quality in packaging. The DVD and Blu-ray cases were so soft and flimsy that they barely protect the discs. The DVD case cracked and a piece broke off despite putting very little force opening the case. I don't know if it was cracked before I even got it or it cracked from the minimal force it took to open it. The plastic hinged flap holding two of the bluray discs came off immediately from opening the case alone. Not broken but the case is just much too soft and the spine barely held on to that flap. The bluray content itself was also disappointing. I thought there would at least be some bonus content, but there was none of that. The rest of the stuff in the box set (like the coin, cards, hardcover picture book) were just ok.Overall, I don't think it was worth the expensive price at all. I would definitely not order the premium box set for season 2.
