Great Shoes for Budget Traveller
These are my first ever waterproof shoes and I did not know what to expect from them. I was on a budget for my Iceland trip and I had to buy waterproof hiking shoes due to the conditions over there. Surprisingly, these fit me perfectly, are lightweight that helped in walking around A LOT, and kept my feet fully dry through 7 days of rain. It had an amazing grip as well and I can tell the difference because before I used to always go on hiking in my regular sports shoes. These Columbia shoes held a firm grip on the rock, sand, and gravel. It barely covered my ankle but it was approved by the tour guide for my Glacier Hike. Ice crampons fit perfectly on these.

Awesome warm weather work boots
When it comes to work boots, I'm incredibly fussy and particular, as I spend sometimes up to 16 hours in them. That being said, I've yet to find a better spring/summer work boot. They are light weight, but strong. Water proof enough.... But oddly enough they are very breathable so your "swamp foot" isnt so bad.. The grip is great on just about any surface. Here the BIG plus. They are durable as hell. and very well made. The heels and toes NEVER separate like almost every brand I've tried. The only reason I replaced them is because the HEELS wore away from the amazing 9 months of heavy duty work usage I got out of them. Just for comparison, the closest any other boot has come, including the most expensive brands, was about 4 or 5 months. The only reason I need work boots for winter is because "Lightweight and Breathable", usually dont accompany "Warm and Waterproof" in descriptive text.

Excellent!
I hike a lot. I hike over lots of rocks, I hike in hilly areas with a lot of loose gravel, and I splash through streams. These are probably the best boots I've ever used for hiking and they are among the least expensive. Two things I like in particular: the soles have a fantastic tread (really great for all that gravel), and the waterproofing is flawless. I've worn them almost every day since I received them over 2 months ago and the tread is every bit as good as it was when they were new. Hope Columbia keeps making them!PS -- just want to add that they really do run small in my experience; I bought a half size larger than I normally wear and they fit perfectly.

good tread and light weight
I'm old enough to remember when shoe sizes were uniform. An 11 was a size eleven no mater what brand of shoe you bought. (Across different brands, I now wear anything from a 10.5 to 12)That's why I've been really hesitant to buy shoes online, or any mail order at all. However, Columbia has been my brand for quite a few years now, and at this price, I couldn't pass these up. These are well constructed, tough, good tread and light weight. And just a hair smaller than the size 11's they are replacing. Not so much that I think that they'll be just as comfortable when I get them broke in. I can't expect them to be as comfortable as shoes I've been wearing every day for almost 4 years right out of the box. They are waterproof enough, while still breathing really well. Good for any terrain. They'll probably be 5 star shoes in another month.$100/$150 shoes for 40 bucks can't be beat.

Waterproofing did NOT work
The shoe is very well made but the waterproofing did not work at all. I got fully soaked while it was raining 3 days ago and the shoes are still wet. I went on a strenuous hike in the Smokies and it felt a little uncomfortable while coming down the slope. It put too much pressure on my toes. Would not recommend this for hiking or if waterproofing is a necessity.

Not too enthused about these boots
I normally buy my Columbia boots locally from Famous Footwear and spend $40 - $50 dollars more per pair. Then I get suckered into buying a second pair of shoes just because they are buy one get one 1/2 off (often claimed by my wife) . Very annoying for me and my pocket book, but kudos to them for coming up with a good marketing ploy that always keeps me spending more then I wanted to spend. Each pair normally lasts a couple years, so I really shouldn't complain about the cost.Being the typical man, I came up with the ideal that I should do whatever necessary to avoid maxing out my budget on shoes this year. I found what looked like a very nice pair of boots on Amazon, ignored all the reviews about them being sized too small, and bought them anyway because all the Columbia boots I have ever bought locally have always fit exactly as expected. Sadly, the 10 1/2 wides bought online fit like 10 regulars. I wish I would have bought a size 11 now. I will be real surprised if I don't split out the sides within 6 months to a year.Pros:Great looking shoeNo obvious flaws in the stitchingSoft yet firm rubber treadAwesome priceCons:Fit a bit small, both narrow and short.Padding doesn't seem near as comfortable as my Columbia Trail Meisters were.No left over room for custom insoles if they don't get more comfortable after breaking them in.To summarize, if you have a narrow foot and are willing to round up to the nearest half size, you should do well with these boots. For everyone else with wide feet like mine, you recommend you to keep looking for a different boot.

Hard to beat waterproof boots at a great price!
These are really great boots! I normally wear a 9.5 and ordered a 10 which fits perfectly so I'd say they fit roughly a half size larger than what you'd normally wear. As some others have said they are a little warm compared to other non-waterproof boots. As far as I can tell they are waterproof as claimed. They may not be optimal in warmer weather but in the winter/fall in the midwest they're basically perfect. Very high quality all around.I walk about a mile to and from the train each day and have had some flares of mild plantar fasciitis with many different pairs of shoes. These boots offer great support and my feet are 100% pain free! For those that said these run narrow... I don't agree at all.

No te arrepentirás.

Caution - not very wide
My feet as measured are essentially 2.5E. I have always been able to fit very comfortably into a 'wide' shoe until now. This wasn't even close unfortunately. Note: I did check and the label inside the boot clearly did indicate "wide" as well, so it wasn't mis-shipped. Too bad as otherwise it seemed like it would be great.
