Bought this as a gift. Good value although I didn’t realise the lid was plastic and not glass however this is handy for taking on picnics or in the garden. Nice quality wood and easy to set up. Wood could do with oiling but didn’t feel too cheap or have a horrible smell.

For the purposes of my review, I will call this a 'cake stand', but you can see that it is more than just that.When my cake stand arrived it was very well packaged, and had a good protective film on the clear lid, and the little wooden handle was inside to make for easier packing - and this was simply unscrewed so it could be put on the outside.The wooden base is a really nice solid piece of wood, and on the cake stand side it has a smooth flat surface with a little lip to keep the lid in place.If you turn the wooden stand 'upside-down' then it becomes a great snack and dip tray.And what it great about the whole thing is that regardless of whether it be in cake stand or snack tray mode, the big clear cloche covers it any way round.So far we've used it as a cake stand several times, with a cake in it of course, but also we've filled it with cookies, pastries, sausage rolls, anything really that just needs to be covered.We've also had nuts, chips, dips and snacks too on the serving side of things.Cleaning it was simple too - one good thing about wood is that naturally antiseptic, so it means it is easier to clean and know that warm water will do the job.Overall it isn't an inexpensive item, but it looks lovely out on the counter and is used loads. Definitely recommend it.

I love a versatile item for the kitchen, and this one delivers. Its rustic look is perfect for my kitchen. You can use the cake stand, or turn it upside down for a nice chips and dip tray.

I absolutely love this wooden cake plate stand. The knob for the lid came screwed inwards so it would not get damaged and it would be easier to pack which I thought was extremely smart and useful. It also came wrapped and packed very nicely so I would be quite surprised if I someone says they received a damaged or broken product.The wooden part of the cake stand comes with a screwed on pot which I thought made it very functional and multi-purpose. You could put fruits or sauce in there and dip whatever you put on the plate! The wood is also very shiny and thick itself which really represents its really good quality! You can also screw the pot off and just use it as a simple food plate or cake stand and this can be done with both sides of the wooden circle board. One side is just plain and smooth while the other side has about four mini compartments which was quite smart as it prevents things from falling out easily.Lid wise, it is made of good quality. It comes wrapped in a film so it does not get scratched before it reaches the customer which really tells you a lot about the quality of the lid,too.I personally feel that the quality of the product justifies the price which currently stands at £29.99 at the time of review as it is multipurpose and made out of a very good material.Would definitely recommend!

I bought the rectangular board twice and both times the quality of the wooden base has been terrible. It looked great when I first unpackaged the item however as I was planning to put food on it thought I would wash it first. I hand washed with a soft cloth and warm soapy water as the instructions say only to find that this caused lots of splinters to rise. Thinking that I must have got a faulty one I ordered another only for the same thing to happen. I would question the suitability of this product for serving food as you are caught between either not cleaning it which can’t be hygienic or risking splinters in your food which can not be safe.

Purchased this for baked goods and it looked beautiful and functioned perfectly! I just put out some breakfast pastries this morning and the lid would not fit snugly as before… On closer inspection, it appears the wood has warped. I’ve had this for less than a month! So disappointing!

This is not just a cake stand although as a cake stand it’s a really good cake stand. The base is made of good quality wood. The base can be turned upside down and used as a food tray. Lid is clear and sturdy. Very happy with this stand.

This is actually a very pretty cake tin, my only issue is it does seem to be more decorative as it doesn't have a proper seal. But it's a great stand, and as long as you don't have a tall cake it works well.It doesn't wobble and the wood looks really nice!

This product is terrible. I tried twice to buy it and each time the lid would be scratched even though it was packaged well. It's not good quality. I took the product back both times because who wants a scratched up cake stand!

I really liked this cake stand. I even made some cake and brownies for it and was so ecstatic to have one. I also loved the idea of having something shatter proof because I have two special needs kids than break a lot of things. Unfortunately, this ended up being one of those things. My middle child dropped the lid on the floor and somehow it split. I was so upset but will keep looking for something to stand up to my kids. It is still a really nice, simple cake stand and I would still recommend to anyone without rough kids.

My wife loves to make cakes but never really has a place to put it when it's finished. With her in mind, I picked this up so she can showcase her masterpiece, and add a homely feeling to the kitchen. The wood turntable is done reasonably well with smooth ball-bearings to rotate the stand. The plastic top is well designed and fits well, however mine came with a few scratches and scuffs that I can't unsee until a cake is placed inside.
