Ultimate Collector's Guide (Beanie Boos) Paperback – April 24, 2018

Great book except many items in the book aren’t sold any longer. Just makes it hard when someone wants one and the only place to buy it is on eBay for $45 but the original cost was $7. Just saying.

My 6 year old granddaughter had this on her birthday list. Cheaper than at Sams Club!!

To begin with, this is NOT a collector's guide. As stated on page 2 of the book, "This is a work of fiction." Legitimate Ty Collector's guides typically include each plush animal's name, style number, birthday (if any), introduction date, retirement date (if any) and information about the swing tags. This book references the names, birth dates and poems (which are correct), but not the other information included in credible collectors guides. If you are a serious Ty Beanie Boos collector and you are searching for a good reference guide to help organize and categorize your collection; this is not the book for you.That being said, the author, Meredith Rusu, displays a spectacular imagination by making up inside facts on almost 300 Ty Beanie Boos. For a paperback book, the print job is excellent (kudos to Scholastic publishing). All of the contents are in color with pleasing color combinations including good photos/graphics of the Beanie Boos. If you have young children who collect Beanie Boos, this book would make a nice gift for fun; but not for reference. Price-wise, this book is a "steal" for $10 (the price we paid at Amazon). Had the author titled this book "The World of Ty Beanie Boos" or something without the words "Collector's Guide" in the title, I would willingly have made this a 5-star review.

Super cute book for my 6 year old Beanie Boo lover. The newer ones she has gotten are not in the book, but that was not really a surprise. There are a ton of beanie boos in here with lots of pictures and fun facts. The book is high quality and sturdy. Love it. Thanks!! :)

Our four year old daughter is obsessed with this book. We aren’t adult collectors so some problems others mentioned really don’t matter to us. If your child just loves Beanie Boos and loves reading and learning about them, this seems to more than fit the bill!

My daughter is a beanie boo collector. She has about 30-35 of them. This cute little book is pretty comprehensive. It has them listed in alphabetical order and describes them. I'm not sure that it has all of the Boos but it has most and she loves it!

They are constantly putting out beanie boos, so I am not sure how up to date this book it. I can say that my 9 yr old, loves bean boos and read every page which is probably the most important thing.

Da meine Tochter total vernarrt ist in Beanie Boos und auch ich schon in meiner Jugend in den 90er Jahren Ty Beanie Babies gesammelt habe, wollte meine Tochter diesen Guide unbedingt zu Weihnachten haben.Es ist nicht nur ein Guide und Nachschlagewerk für Kinder, sondern auch für uns Erwachsene wird darin einiges geboten (sofern man sich für die Tierchen interessiert). Das Buch ist auf Englisch, ist aber relativ einfach geschrieben sodass Kinder es nach 1-2 Jahren Englisch Unterricht problemlos alleine lesen und anschauen können. Das Buch hat 192 Seiten und ist komplett farbig illustriert auf hochwertigem glattgestrichenem mattem Papier. Wie ein richtiger hochwertiger Katalog. Das Cover ist natürlich der Eyecatcher schlechthin: Hochglanzdruck mit Titel in Glitzer, wer kann da schon wiederstehen. Es sind alle Beanie Boos, also über 300 Stück die bisher erschienen sind (Stand 2019) gelistet und jedem Beanie Boo wurde eine halbe oder gar eine ganze Buchseite gewidmet.Wie auf den Fotos zu sehen, ist die Aufmachung ähnlich wie einem Freunde-Buch, welches man in der Schule den besten Freunden zum ausfüllen gibt. Bei jedem Beanie Boo steht der Name, es steht auch dabei in welcher Grösse das Plüschtier erhältlich ist (Regular, Medium, Large, Extra-Large oder Clip), eine kurze Beschreibung des Tieres, Geburtsdatum, Persönliches Gedicht (Poem) und viele lustige und interessante Details (Persönlichkeit, Lieblingsessen, Vorlieben, Traum, Hobbies, Motto, etc. etc.)Auf der letzten Seite ist noch ein grosses Poster (3 Buchseiten gross) mit allen Beanie Boos, mit Name und Foto. Perfekt, um es entweder einzurahmen oder um zu schauen welche man schon gesammelt hat, welche man sich noch wünscht etc.Ich bin von diesem Guide positiv überrascht, er bietet nicht nur den Kindern Spass, sondern es macht Freude ihn gemeinsam mit den Kindern zu studieren, darin zu blättern, zu schmökern und zu kichern über die lustigen «Fun Facts» die darin zu finden sind. Auch meine 3jährige Nichte hatte Spass daran, ihr musste man zwar vorlesen aber die vielen Bilder sprechen für sich. Erstaunlich auch, dass die Kids sich tatsächlich die ganzen Namen merken können, teilweise sogar die Gedichte von den Plüschtieren, die sie selber besitzen.Von uns gibt es 5 Sterne für einen wirklich kindgerechten Katalog bzw. Collector’s Guide, der mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet wurde.Der einzige Nachteil: Meine Tochter hätte sich eine heraustrennbare Checkliste gewünscht, wo sie ankreuzen kann welche Beanie Boos sie schon hat. Das Poster ist ihr dafür nämlich zu schade, das haben wir eingerahmt. Vielleicht gibt es so einen Guide auch irgendwann für die klassischen Ty Beanie Babies?🧸 Ich gebe mir beim Schreiben all meiner Rezensionen und Bewertungen immer sehr viel Mühe. According to my daughter - who is absolutely obsessed with beanie boos - this is the best book ever.It doesn't have all the teddies in it, but the book would weigh a tonne if it did! Lots of interesting info, nicely set out, great pictures. We are buying another for my niece for christmas.
