Sennheiser PC363D Surround Sound 7.1 Gaming Over-Ear HeadsetBack in January I paid £170 for this headset. This was never my original intention of ever paying this amount of money having previously owned a £40 Gamecom and £60 Roccat Kave. Both of these headsets used individual 3.5mm jack plugs for the surround sound directly into the audio card 7.1 sockets. I soon realized that this type of connection had gone out of fashion and I was going to have to adapt to one of these pseudo ones with a built in sound card specific to the headset. I was looking for something in the £60 to £90 range. I needed to do some research and I took eight of the best from Amazon plus looked at reviews on the internet and also from watching YouTube.I realized that you could pay a lot of money from what I had seen in the reviews and I could still find some aspects whether it was the build quality, sound, or microphone performance, that were lacking. I know as individuals we all have our preferences and also the computer systems that the headsets are being plugged into are going to have different qualities.I decided to see what was around in the £100 to £200 range not that I was ever prepared to pay £200? During my research one headset stood out beyond all the others which was the Sennheiser headset.Having spent £170 has the purchase fulfilled my expectations?The headset comes in quality packaging and the first thing you notice when picking it up is how light it is at just over 250 grams, this means a comfortable fit with no fatigue after hours of gaming. With my previous headsets after an hour of gaming I could not wait to get then off my head. The Gamecom always felt uncomfortable and the Roccat Kave weighed in at a hefty 430 grams.The Sennheiser has a volume control fitted unobtrusively on the right ear piece that can be rotated to adjust the volume whilst still being worn which is easy to adjust.The microphone has a large amount of up and down movement and the on and off switching can be distinctly heard whilst wearing.The build quality is what you would expect from a premium headset and Sennheiser does not let you down here as it just oozes quality.The cable is what I would call industry standard for a high quality product the same as on my Logitech G9X mouse. The cable splits into two mini 3.5mm colour coded jack plugs, these then go into the switchable surround sound 7.1/stereo control box.The small control box is connected by cable to a USB plug. When connected to the computer a green light shows that the box is active. When the 7.1 surround sound is activated the Sennheiser name on the top of the control box turns blue.The sound is very good whether listening to music or gaming and is a subjective issue depending on the listener but more than satisfies me.The microphone is certainly the best of the three headsets I have had. It is very responsive and does not need to be placed in front of the mouth to get a good response. This was always going to be a concern as this seems to be the weakness in the headsets I reviewed but I need not have worried with the Sennheiser and am extremely satisfied with its performance. My preferred position is the microphone head down at the bottom of my chin so I do not actually see it at all and I have a clear view in front of me.. The microphone boom is bendable but I have needed to make any adjustments from out of the box.By going to the speaker icon on the computer task bar, right clicking with the mouse on it and selecting playback devices I can then select the default settings between the external speakers and the headset, very easy to do when my wife wants to use the computer.I do not regret spending £170 on a quality headset that should last for years to come, as for me there are all pro’s and I have not come across any cons to date.While I may have initially spent more than I intended too I will not be looking to replace this headset again in the future.Is it really worth the five stars? Well you can’t give six can you?If you can get this for less than £160 then get yourself a bargain.

Invested in these and they arrived this lunchtime.I am a veteran online FPS gamer and a devout audiophile ranging from decent classical right through to knock yer socks off acid trance.Research realisation pointed me to see I could do away with the sound card requirement altogether with this headset. Comes with a very decent USB sound card which the headphone and mic then plug into. USB dongle then switches between very decent listening (not exceptional) and scarey good, gaming 7.1 surround.ProsNew PC build straining on motherboard built in sound card, (ASUS ROG Maximus VII Hero) which was OK as a car horn will let you know you are about to be run over.The FPS gaming transormation was shocking and kinda scary. Yes I read lots of reviews saying the same thing before I shelled out this much cash .. but No kidding .. The dirrefence is WOW. Sports Car time!I could hear them everywhere and knew where they were runnign to. Dead easy to pick off.Hillariouslyly, lots of "Hacker!", "Report" and "VACBAN" moans and groans started almost straight away... Sooooo Sweet and so funny!One thing.... 7.1 off and on is done by the top of the USB dongle thingy sliding 2mm away or toward the ON light. The top physically slides and you have to be a little bit forcefull with it which, after that much money, is not an obvious thing to think of doing..Advise downloading the latest drivers straight away (2yr old drivers come on the disk) and the gaming mode 7.1 lights up with "Engaged" and the Dolby Logo 7.1 Surround Sound logo.... So very, very cool!Dongle off and on also dictates music listening. You don't want to be listening to music with 7.1 "Engaged" unless you want to remember being at a concert/festival, far away from the stage and waiting in line at the bar or the toilets.ConsIn-Box installation instruction literature is a complete joke... I had the prescence of mind to Google/YouYube the whole install procedure ahead of delivery and I would advise the same if purchasing.Just make sure you completely uninstall your previous sound card software and go into device manager and not just disable but "Uninstall" your old sound adapter. Especially the on motherboard sound card.. You will have grief if you don't.Tight on the head but that will wear in obviously. I can feel this will be a very comfy one though even after just a few hours. 2 Years Guarentee. They know they made a good one.No equaliser software to adjust but then this is a headset and not a sound card.Smidge bassey needing a light touch more mid and treble when not in 7.1 gaming mode. Just a tweek of the software.Even so, out of the box, it is still very well levelled.OPEN cup Warning!If you or your immediate friends/family/wife trying to get to sleep whilst you are in mid clan battle, are used to you being a closed cup efficianado, they are going to hear a definate volume increase emminating from you and you can quite rightly expect the "TURN IT <expletive> DOWN" immediate and forcefull recomendations which brings me to the volume control on the right ear cup. Could have used a pea sized indent in the plastic dial on the right ear cup to help you turn the dial quickly as you strangly end up using this quite a lot... "Sorry .. missed that ... what is it loud?" .. /sighOn the whole ... Seriously, seriously decent bit of kit and robust enough that I know these are going to be on my head for many years to come. Very expensive but well worth every penny if you are lucky enough to be able to indulge yourself.Edit: 2 months in:AudiophileSound levels and no mixer just arn't cutting it ... Vry frustrating. Audiophile 60%-75% of what these should be capable of putting out.But, as it is all working off an audio jack .. there is no software to congure ... Sneaky. Didnt suss that at the start..USB to a small inline device that acts like a sound card but surprisingly is still acceptable (ish) on the default.You are going to need hardware and accompanying software to give you access to a mixer to get the best music out of these headphones but as headphones, they are certainly capable of very decent quality sound ranges. Out of the box, that's what's soo annoying.. just that extra step they didn't take!Heading in that direction now so will add another edit with the proper (to me) freq tuned in and can report back on that.Physical:Fully broken in now after 2 months. Wonerfully comfortable and still firm. Love these being on my head... Have to push them forward a bit to get directional sound in line with your ear cannals. <not jokin> Know they are on your head in the same way you know you have a coat on in the rain. Braided cord to the USB is the strongest headphone cable I have ever come across. You could hang from a cliff on it.Open Cup:Yes you do have to turn it down on the side of the ear controller which is surprisingly more natural than I though at the start.50%-60% of the volume you hear goes outwards aswell. Luckily the wife has the same taste in music .. well almost but i turn it back up onnce she has nodded off.CONS:The lack of that audiophile control.. Once you get over the awe of these, that begins to pi$$ you off.

These headphones are excellent.I have some AKG k451 portable headphones (50 quidish) and also the AKG k550 reference headphones (100 quidish). The 363Ds blow them out of the water.Ok, so maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration. The AKG phones are great, but these 363Ds offer better clarity and soundscape than the 451s and much better Bass and fun value than the 550s. Additionally they are really quite light, which is great as I find the 550s just too heavy sometimes.So I highly recommend these headphones. I did read the other reviews carefully before I bought them and saw some reviewers complain about lack of Bass. I have to disagree, the Bass is definitely present and is actually quite impressive in its power but it is not overpowered.For example in Planetside 2 a Max (heavy robot) ran past me and I was amazed at the heavy thud of its metal feet hitting the metal walkway, really deep low reverb.The microphone is also excellent, very solid feeling and very clear according to my friends on teamspeak - much better than my old logitech desk mic.Now to the downsides:- they ain't pretty, but they are well made and fit comfortably on my large head- the USB soundcard is not brilliant, it works and sounds OK and could be v handy if you use speakers but I get better sound from my Asus Xonar DG card - which has a proper headphone amp built-in.I value good sound, I listen to a lot of music at my PC when reading and these headphones are VERY good. Great clarity, distinct soundstage and fun levels of bass.In summary, very good headphones, very good mic, USB soundcard just ok. Happy I bought them.

I bought this headset based on a recommendation made by a friend and a colleague and I do not regret it. It's a tad bit pricey but I got a nice deal with 43% off so I thought I'd jump on the opportunity. I mainly got it for gaming and I can say it didn't disappoint. The headset itself is very comfortable and the audio quality from the microphone really impressed me. I was using a studio condenser mic before which was sitting on my desk and taking up a lot of space, but the mic from this headset replaced that and I now use it primarily which I find very convenient since it saves me a ton of space.The 7.1 Surround sound feature I think is going to be based on personal preference when it comes to each individual user. I didn't like it much for listening to music or watching a show/movie, but it made a world of difference when using it for gaming (mainly Overwatch). I was able to hear and pinpoint very accurate locations using the surround sound feature when playing Overwatch so I can say it does its job well during FPS gaming. I haven't tried it for MMO's or single player games but one can assume that it would do well there too.

Bisher hatte ich vorwiegend günstige Headsets, die aber leider immer wieder viel schneller als gedacht den Geist aufgaben. Wackelkontakte, Kabelbrüche bereits nach wenigen Tagen und trotz sorgsamen Umgang, usw. Daher suchte ich nach einem etwas höherwertigen Headset. Etwas? Bei dem Preis dieses Modells von Sennheiser? Ganz genau. Denn zunächst entschied ich mich für ein Logitech G430, das preislich im Mittelfeld liegt, ebenso wie qualitativ. Leider war ich mit dem G430 nicht ganz zufrieden. Der Sound war sehr gut, ebenso wie das Mikrofon, doch gerade die Bässe waren mir etwas zu wuchtig und phasenweise klang der Sound "blechern", was eigentlich nicht sein dürfte. Zu alldem schien auch noch einer der 3,5 mm Klinkenstecker einen Wackelkontakt zu haben, was absolut nicht geht. Hinzu kommt, dass das Headset offenbar anfällig für Brüche an bestimmten Stellen ist und dies wurde bereits vielfach bemängelt. Zwar ließ sich das G430 auch per USB an meiner PS4 benutzen, doch dort war es auffällig leise, trotz am Headset und an der PS4 voll aufgedrehter Lautstärke.Ich machte mich also erneut auf die Suche, nach einem diesmal hochwertigen Gaming-Headset und stieß auf dieses von Sennheiser. Ansich macht es einen guten und hochwertigen Eindruck, den auch die zahlreichen Rezensionen untermauerten. Der Preis, der nur knapp unter 200 € liegt, war der Punkt, an dem ich ein wenig ins grübeln kam, da dies doch eine stolze Summe für ein Headset ist. Letztendlich wollte ich aber Erfahrungen wie mit dem G430 vermeiden und schlug zu.Schon beim Auspacken macht das Headset einen absolut hochwertigen und qualitativ sehr guten Eindruck. Zwar besteht es zu einem großen Teil aus Plastik, welches aber sehr stabil und gut verarbeitet wirkt.Der Tragekomfort:Der Tragekomfort bei ist diesem Headset kaum noch zu übertreffen. Die Polster an der Innenseite des Bügels und an den Hörmuscheln bestehen aus Velours und sind daher sehr weich. Zweifelsohne hatte ich nie ein Headset, das sich so angenehm tragen ließ wie dieses. Auch nach stundenlangem gaming schmerzen die Ohren nicht, es drückt nichts und man schwitzt unter den Polstern auch nicht. Hier zeigt Sennheiser, wie man es richtig macht!Bedienung/Technik:Das Headset kommt mit einem fest angebundenen Kabel, welches in 2 x 3,5 mm Klinkensteckern endet. Diese Können mit der mitgelieferten USB-Soundkarte verbunden werden und nur mit Hilfe dieses kleinen Geräts, gelingt erst der fantastische 7.1 Surround-Sound.Zunächst sollten per CD die Treiber installiert werden. Dabei wird man aufgefordert - soweit nicht schon geschehen - das Headset per USB anzuschließen. Nach der Installation kann es auch schon losgehen. Über ein kleines Symbol mit dem Sennheiser-Logo unten in der Startleiste, kann nun ausgewählt werden, in welcher Qualität man den Sound hören möchte. Hier wählte ich natürlich 7.1.Die Lautstärkeregelung ist sehr praktisch gelöst und befindet sich an der Außenseite der rechten Hörmuschel (siehe Bild). Wird das Headset getragen, reicht ein leichtes drehen nach hinten, um die Lautstärke zu verringern und nach vorne, um sie zu erhöhen. Kleiner Negativpunkt: Dreht man den Lautstärkeregler bis zum Anschlag nach hinten, also leiser, ist immer noch etwas zu hören. Komplett "wegdrehen" lässt sich der Sound also nicht.Das wichtigste, der Klang:Der Klang dieses Headsets ist schon bei "normalem" Anschluss über 3,5 mm direkt an den PC sehr sehr gut. Schließt man es aber über die USB-Soudkarte an und aktiviert die 3D G4ME 1 Funktion, ertönt aus den Hörmuscheln ein absoluter weltklasse Klang, mit dem sich einfach alles perfekt anhört, egal ob Stimmen oder die verschiedensten Musikrichtungen. Der Bass ist bei desem Headset ein viel diskutiertes Thema. Einige finden ihn zu schwach, andere finden ihn genau richtig. Nachdem ich das Headset sowohl am PC, als auch an der PS4 und für Filme genutzt habe, steht meine Meinung zum Bass fest: Er ist genau richtig. Egal ob in Filmen bei Actionszenen, bei einem bassigen Song über den PC oder an der PS4 wenn neben einem etwas explodiert, der Bass ist richtig stark und es kracht ordentlich wenn im Film ein Auto in die Luft fliegt o. ä.Eine entsprechende Qualität vorausgesetzt, klingen auch Stimmen ausgezeichnet und glasklar.Beim Gaming am PC zeigt das Headset erst so richtig was es kann und was der 7.1 Kanal Surround-Sound zustande bringt. Anschleichen der Gegner von hinten? Das ist mit diesesm Headset Vergangenheit, da man jedes noch so feine Geräusch genau orten kann, egal ob Schritte, einen sich nähernden Heli, oder einfach Stimmen. Man weiß immer genau, woher die Geräusche kommen.Das Mikrofon:Das Mikrofon sieht allein schon sehr imposant und nach höchster Qualität aus. Genau das ist auch der Fall. Bisher wurde mir egal ob bei Skype, bzw. TS jedes mal wenn ich hinzukam bestätigt, dass ich glasklar zu hören bin und das Mikrofon offenbar eine sehr gute Qualität hat.Wird das Mikrofon nicht benötigt, kann es einfach nach oben weggeklappt werden, womit es auch automatisch deaktiviert wird. Sobald es heruntergeklappt wird, ist es aktiv.Für interessierte: Ich habe zwei Nahaufnahmen des Mikrofons hochgeladen.Verwendung an der PS4:Das Headset an einer PS4 zu benutzen ist auf zwei Arten möglich: Entweder per USB direkt vorne am Gerät anschließen, oder aber am Controller über 3,5 mm. Für letzteres wird wenn man auch das Mikrofon nutzen möchte ein Adapter benötigt. Geht es allerdings um den Singleplayer-Modus und nur um den Sound, reicht es natürlich, den grünen Stecker an den Controller anzuschließen und schon kann es losgehen.Das G430 war bei Anschluss an die PS4 per USB leider sehr leise. Erfreulicherweise ist es bei dem Sennheiser Headset genau umgekehrt. Per USB ist die Lautstärke völlig i. O., per 3,5 mm hingegen etwas leise. Wem die Lautstärke über USB noch nicht reicht, kann wie folgt vorgehen:- während eines Spiels die PS-Taste lange drücken, um ins Schnellmenü zu gelangen- im Schnellmenü "Ton und Geräte anpassen" auswählen- "Lautstärkeregelung (Kopfhörer)" ganz aufdrehen (Achtung, könnte evtl. zu laut sein, dann über Drehregler am Headset Lautstärke anpassen)- "Ausgabe über Kopfhörer" sollte auf "Gesamtes Audio" stehenMit den o. g. Einstellungen, sollte der Sound absolut ausreichend laut sein. Wurde ich nun den Drehregler am Headset voll aufdrehen, würde es definitiv schon zu laut. Ansonsten ist das Headset an der PS4 genau wie am PC der Hammer. Natürlich, man muss sich darüber im klaren sein, dass man an der PS4 nicht den hochwertigen 7.1 Surround-Sound, sondern nur Stereo hat. Dennoch finde ich den Sound sehr gut und auch die Bässe kommen nicht zu kurz. Explodiert neben einem eine Granate, donnert das Explosionsgeräusch richtig durchs Headset. Genau so soll es sein.Ich denke von meiner Seite aus, habe ich alles beschrieben, was zu beschreiben war.Mein Fazit: Es handelt sich bei dem Sennheiser PC 363D meiner Meinung nach um eines der besten Headsets auf dem Markt. Da mit diesem Headset einfach alles super und kristallklar klingt, gibt es auch keine Einschränkungen, wie nur für Gaming geeignet o. ä. Man kann es genau so gut für Filme/Musik aber selbstverständlich auch für Gespräche nutzen. Die einzigen beiden Dinge, die man berücksichtigen sollte sind zum einen der alles andere als günstige Preis (Preis beim Hersteller, 249,00 €) und die Tatsache, dass sich der Ton durch den Drehregler nicht komplett auf null stellen lässt. Letzteres ist aber denke ich "meckern" auf sehr hohem Niveau.Ich kann dieses Headset absolut empfehlen, wenn man Wert auf hochwertige Technik und besten Sound legt, egal ob bei Filmen, Musik, oder beim Gaming.

Los mejores cascos para gaming del mercado en la actualidad. He probado infinidad de cascos 5.1 y estos son los primeros en los que de verdad siento el efecto envolvente. Tampoco dan ese sonido enlatado que dan los otros en la emulacion. Caben perfectamente en las orejas y la comodidad es absoluta, el acolchado es de una calidad impecable. No son rigidos, se pueden doblar lo cual los hace mas resistentes. El microfono cumple a la perfeccion. El cable que trae es trenzado para evitar enredos. Hasta ahora no puedo decir nada malo.
