Has very deep lines but I sanded them down and this is a good ceramic for a cheap price. It's easy to use if you know how to angle it right. It's last like 3 days before I gotta clean it. It's the size it is and very thick. Just 2 passes and you're good so it's fast. Edge is pretty sharp.

It works good and I like the bigger size I have a few I ordered in the past that are just too small for bigger knives.

This is a honing rod and it does a great job. In my opinion it is better than a steel honing rod. It is quicker and lighter than steel and quickly redefines the edge

I have had ceramic sharpeners in the past and this is about as good as any.I have paid 35 dollars for a really premium rod and this is mostly as good and 1/3 the price.If you are a TV Chef, I recommend the best, for the rest of us, this will likely outlive the need, or until you loose it. Oh important, buy a Statler pencil eraser to clean the ceramic after use.

Yes, just like the picture, this ceramic rod is a light pink. I can live with that, but the rod has raised scratchy areas on it and some loosely bonded grit that rubs off. It is not smooth and uniform. I wouldn't trust it with my fine knives. I guess you get what you pay for. On the plus side, the handle is red, meaning it probably isn't made of recycled black plastic from electronic instruments full of toxic flame retardants. It was shipped from Amazon in a paper envelope -- a dubious choice for a breakable ceramic rod wrapped only in a little bit of bubble wrap and a plastic bag, but it seems not to have been damaged by the experience.

does not fit into a standard block hole, terrible quality, ceramic surface with foreign inclusions and build-ups, in short, a cheap one-dollar product, a waste of money.

I dropped and broke a cheapo that I had for years. Was immediately impressed with the size, weight and feel.
