Excellent device; a submarine periscope on my IP mini
I was skeptical at first and almost didn't buy it after reading the negative 1 star reviews. But I'm glad that I didn't believe them and bought it anyway!I've been a Prime member since 2006 and I value my membership. I always research and read tons of reviews before I make a purchase. So, it didn't really come as a surprise to find out that some dishonest competitors buy excellent products (often several of them over time) just to trash them as verified purchesers to seem authentic. Then they use Amazon's terrific free return policy to get their money back. They kill two birds with one stone, as it were! They must feel brilliant thinking that they are duping their competitor's potential customers!!! And it doesn't cost them a thing but maybe a few minutes of their time. I think that Amazon has known about this nasty business practice for awhile but have been powerless to stop them without verifiable evidence. However, I've been seeing more notes lately in the review section warning of possible 3rd party interference, dishonesty, and even fraud. Buyer -- and review reader -- beware cannot be stressed enough! In the case of this steam diverter, I think some people used the device improperly, bought the wrong device for their particular PC -- this is designed for specific IP models NOT other brands that use a different valve design -- or were neglegent keeping their IP's steam release valves clean. I would also include 'dumb' but I don't want to seem demeaning! Let's just say, unintentionally ignorant....I love this excellent product! It's inexpensive and it actually works as intended -- imagine that! It fits perfectly, doesn't interfere with the proper functioning of the PC and it doesn't fall off. It comes in two parts so it's easy to initially put one part on upside down, howerver the other curved part won't fit then. Assembled and fitted properly this little miracle is guaranteed to save your cabinets and walls. I've owned a 6 quart Power Quick Pot since Nov. 2019 but wanted a littler PC for smaller recipes. I've owned my IP 3 qt. mini for two weeks now and use it every day so the steam venting was taking its toll on my kitchen cabinets even when I pulled the PC out from under them since the steam widens as it is released. Plus, there is a lot of splatter involved when quick venting steel cut oats, beans and other foods that expand while cooking. We all know that we shouldn't quick vent those types of foods but sometimes we can't wait! So, that's when this little submarine periscope really comes in handy. I vent into the center of the kitchen away from objects and people. I just wish I could find one that fits my Power Quick Pot.I was so impressed with this device, that two days ago, I took it over to my Sister's house to use on her new IP Ultra and it fit and worked perfectly. She begged me to let her keep it! I said, 'No!' She then immediately ordered one for herself. That's another reason that I'm convinced that there are bogus reviewers trashing this product saying that it doesn't work on the Ultra! In my opinion, this steam diverter is a necessary accessory to the IP!Also, I leave my 'periscope' on all the time, even when the IP is not in use. It fits perfectly, is light weight, has never interfered with the IP coming to pressure nor has it allowed steam to vent while cooking. Having said that, I have occasionally left the steam release valve slightly askew so that some steam vents while cooking. That's common for IP users since the steam release valves are not idiot proof -- don't automatically lock into place -- like my Power Quick Pot. It has an advanced steam vent system that automatically locks into place when the lid is attached. It's idiot proof! You can't even take the lid off even after the steam has vented without first pulling a sliding lever to the open position. Genius! IP product engineers should take note! Therefore, I think that if anybody has an issue with this much need steam diverting device then they purchased the wrong type for their PC, it's user error or clogged steam release valves in the majority of the cases -- which they'll likely deny! Or they're bogus reviewers trying to trash an excellent product for their own benefit. That's my opinion!

DOnt put it on till you are ready to vent the Instant Pot
Thick silicone which I am sure will make it last. I have used a regular pressure cooker for many years and always had to deal with the steam by putting a paper towel over it to stop the spatter from going all over it. This is a perfect gadget to protect me and my cabinets and wall.UPDATE used it a few times now and find it does not sit perfectly on the lid as the lid is not flat but slopes and is on a curve. Had trouble adjusting it and the steam came pouring out in the heating up stage. Had to keep adjusting it till it stopped. The last time, I removed it and then when I was ready to vent the pressure cooker I carefully put it back on, turned to the vent position and it worked great. THat is what I will do from now on. I have the Duo Plus 80 IP

Steam picture is a lie!
One of the photos advertising this product shows stream shooting out sideways from the spout. This is a complete lie. In reality, the steam gets moved 3 inches, and then goes straight up (like steam will do) into your cabinets. So if 3 inches is what you're looking for, you may find this produce worthwhile. Otherwise, save your money.RETURNED

No more steamy, wet mess on the edge of the cabinet above!!
We've used our instant pot at least weekly since we got it and I've always worried about the upper cabinets. We have a small kitchen and the steam goes straight up to those cabinets. So much so that I have to wipe them dry before I open the lid or it may drip into the food (um, gross). And I've been concerned that the steam may ultimately damage the cabinets. Well, low and behold!! Not this anymore!! The steam was properly diverted away, so no more steamy, wet mess on the edge of the cabinet above!! Amazing. It was much larger than I anticipated, but realize it needs to be that big to work.

Should be standard with the Instant Pot Lux models. This one is the best design.
The one big design flaw in the Instant Pot is that it shoots steam straight up rather than giving you any type of directional control. Not great if you have cabinets over your counters. I'm glad I waited until after I had my instant pot to order one of these steam diverters as they come in 2 different main flavors.. the Lux model instant pot and "everything else". Most of the steam diverters are for the other model instant pots. The Lux model requires this style, and this is by far the best design I've seen for the diverters. You can aim this one in any 360-degree direction and it's durable silicone and not some fragile 3d printer plastic. This is the one you want. And it's red, so it matches much of the kitchen motif.

Cabinet saver!!
Cabinet savior is accurate! This snaps together easily, slides over the Instant Pot release switch & diverts the steam out the side, rather than straight up your cabinets! We have regular, big-box store cabinets & of course, they’ve got a venerr/laminate finish. Didn’t want to risk that coming loose due to the steam. When you’re done with this, it pops apart easily & we throw it in the dishwasher. Ready for another round!

Fits My Mealthy MultiPot 9-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker 6 Quarts
This is a very inexpensive and simple device that appears fits my Mealthy MultiPot 9-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker 6 Quarts. It fits quite tightly and takes a bit of adjusting and stretching to ensure it works, but it fits, which was a concern of mine. This device is simply made and is rather soft but dimensionally stable.. It adds a couple of inches to the overall height of the pot, but it is very flexible and the pot can still easily slide under my upper cabinets when sitting on the counter.. Also, as a side note.. This item is NOT DESIGNED TO STOP the steam from flowing out of the pot, but instead IT IS DESIGNED TO DIVERT THE STEAM to the direction it is set. I believe it should work quite well in the long run. If not, I'll update my review..

OK but really not necessary !
Works great but make sure it is installed properly to ensure proper venting ! Really not required unless pot is set back under the top cupboards when venting which ours isn’t !

muy util
aditamento muy útil para tu instant pot (yo tengo la mini). No ensucias tu alacena, al dirigir el vapor hacia otro lado. Es un poco caro pero muy útil.
