My parent is a dentist, and this is what he recommends. It stings at first, but there is something relieving about that sting. It usually controls a cold sore within a day or two. This is the only product I use.

My family has used Zilactin for many many years. If you feel a cold sore coming on just dab a little bit on there right away. And it pretty much dries it up. If needed you can apply another little dab. It might sting a little at first, but then it takes care of the job. Just rub a little on the spot and let it dry. Don’t touch it. You will be amazed.

I will never use anything else. My dentist recommended this over 20 years ago and it really works. I sometimes get ulcers on my tongue from medication side effects. Zilactin heals it in only a few days. It also works when I bite the inside of my cheek. When my last tube expired, I tried Orajel for 3 days. Complete disappointment. It numbs great, but Zilactin gives you the zing then the numbness.

It does work very well. I apply twice a day because it felt burning when I used it but three days improve my cold sore lip. Definitely recommend. It’s very easy to use and value money.
