Excellent and Easy to Install
This alarm system was very easy to install, and it works exactly as expected. The alarm is loud enough to alert everyone in the house if a door or window is opened. It’s a great, affordable way to add extra security without complicated wiring or professional installation. Great value for the price!

Worth every dime!
Super simple installation! Batteries are installed and ready to use. And boy does this little alarm pack a punch for loudness! Wow!! I purchased this alarm for a sense of more security. I live on the ground floor of an apartment complex and transients are always walking thru the area sleeping under bushes, awnings, and for me, I had one sleeping on my patio. You can only imagine the fright I felt opening my curtains to that situation. I do have an aluminum pole in my slider door, but the alarm just gives me that added sense of security. Its on 90% of the time and my kids now know they just can't open the door without the alarm going off. ( It is placed high enough so little hands can't reach it). I feel it is quite effective and for what I paid well worth the added peace of mind. I bought the pack of 2 for just under $21, and passed the 2nd one on to my neighbor with children!

A limited alarm that provides limited security very effectively.
---04/02/2015 UPDATE--- Amazon's stellar-as-always customer service sent me a replacement 2-pack (and paid for the return shipping for the defective pack). I've had these installed in my flat for about four months now. Four stars because "I like it", but that's because I don't expect anything that it can't deliver. Let's get real: these are rated highly because they're extremely loud and very inexpensive. They're not rated highly because they are advanced security. They're great for guarding against the kids opening something they shouldn't, and they're so-so for using as a door chime (it's much too loud to keep on all the time, but a good defense against small children wandering away). I bought them so I can truthfully tell my insurance company that I have burglar alarms installed, to get a home-security discount on my property insurance. I'll be taking them with me when I move out to another home. I'll say it again: the siren is LOUD. It will most definitely cause temporary (or permanent) hearing damage if you're exposed to it for more than a few seconds at a time. Even the chime (a loud, shrill, electronic 'ding-dong') hurts a bit if you're right under it when it sounds. Even so, if you're truly serious about protecting yourself against burglary or home invasion, then for goodness' sake, spend more than $9. With proper placement, will this startle the bejeezus out of someone breaking in? Yes, but only briefly. Anybody with half a brain will be able to locate the siren within a few seconds, and will probably notice the easily-accessed switch on the side to turn it off. That means this alarm is really only useful if A) the burglar is easily scared off, or B) there's somebody around to hear it and investigate. I knew that when I bought them, and was fine with it. They do exactly what I expect them to, and they do that limited thing very well. They were easy for me to install. I took about 10 minutes with each one, determining the best way to install it on my flat's wonky doorframes, testing tolerances and distances, and installing carefully. If you wanted to install them in 90 seconds each, though, you could easily do that. They come with custom-cut 3M Command Strip adhesive pads. Peel, stick, press, peel, stick, press, done. They use included button-cell batteries. A green LED flashes when the siren sounds to show that the unit is working correctly; it doesn't stay lit. This will probably not protect your house while you're on vacation, but it will keep your smaller children where they're supposed to be, and will likely protect your doors while you're sleeping at night. For $9, that's a pretty great deal. ---12/10/2014 ORIGINAL REVIEW--- Temporary two stars because the speaker in one of the alarms was dead right out of the package. The LED turns on just fine, but no noise gets emitted. The other unit is fine, and works quite well, but what good is a two-pack when only one works? Currently working with Amazon to get a replacement, and will update with a full review once I have a fully working package.

Peace of Mind
I bought these just in case we needed them for my mother who is onset dementia. I just held on to them, didn't want her to think they were because of her so didn't want to put on till had to. Few months later, in middle of night she decided to get up and put the cat, food bowls and cat box(which is a chore to move) all out on lanai for no particular reason(he doesn't ever stay out there at night). As soon as my dad told me that, I went right over with the alarms. They only turn them on when they go to bed. They are LOUD! Luckily, they haven't been set off due to my mom, my dad has forgotten about them and set them off. It gives us all peace of mind that she isn't going to stroll outside in the middle of the night and us not possibly realizing it till hours later. Installation easy, if you do set off by mistake, just shut the door instead of trying to get turned off on the alarm. Did have to hang a couple upside down to get the magnetic strips to be side by side, but not a big deal, this was due to how the door frame on a couple of doors. Plus just totally a great, easy and cheap safty item to have no matter what.

Stop gap solution; mediocre quality
Bought these as a stopgap solution until we could get replacement sensors for our actual security system. It worked for us as a temporary solution, but I feel it's too expensive for the quality and how it operates. 1. Like others, I initially thought that one of the units didn't work, but fiddling with the batteries in place finally made it come alive. That should tell you something about the build quality. 2. It is loud, which is good for the alarm. The chime sound is a little grating. Pets are bothered by both sounds. So if you were thinking about this as a chime to let you know when a door is open, maybe look for something more pleasant 3. The alarm turns itself off as soon as the door is closed. So it's a very temporary deterrent! 4. There is an indicator light but apparently that's only to let you know when the battery is low. I was hoping it would turn on when set set to alarm mode. So if you need a temporary solution or maybe something to let you know if someone has gotten into a room or area they're not supposed to, this would work. For what it costs, I would invest in something else if you're looking for an actual security solution

East install and good volume
Easy install and good volume. A couple of options on the sound, one which sounds like walking into the gas station for $25 on 7 but works well and easy to install and can shut off when don’t want on.

Small, Light, Loud, and Convenient!
I purchased these alarms for my parents' bedroom door; my father's memory isn't what it used to be and Mom was being kept up at night worrying about his wandering while she was asleep. So far I've only used one unit, but tested both and they work well. The "main" alarm sound is quite loud and I was concerned it would be too frightening if it went off unexpectedly (and requires someone to find the tiny on/off switch to silence it), so the unit I'm using is set for the "chime" sound; it's plenty loud without being obnoxious or frightening, and it's nice that it simply chimes and then is quiet again until the door is closed -- which also automatically re-arms the alarm for the next time the door opens. I had some concerns about mounting the alarm on the bedroom door because the frame has some fluting carved into it and there's a definite gap between the top of the door and the frame. However, I found a spot close to the hinge side of the door where door & frame lined up nicely, and even with nearly 1/4" space between the alarm and its magnet there have been no problems. The one negative is that I had assumed some form of double-sided tape or hook-and-loop fastener was included, but the package contains only the two alarm units (batteries ARE included) & instructions. I used a long, thin piece of tape to attach the magnet to the door frame and two small pieces of tape on the back of the alarm to attach it to the door and so far all is well. I had to get a little creative with the shape of the tape for the magnet because there was so little flat area on the door frame, and used 2 small bits of tape for the alarm box because I didn't want to cover the sticker with instructions for replacing the batteries. (It uses a stack of small "button" batteries, included.) Both the alarm & magnet are so light that very little tape is needed to hold them in place. Both my parents have commented that this little alarm is working without a glitch, and were relieved to learn they didn't need to worry about having to find the tiny on/off switch in the wee hours of the morning if it's kept on the "chime" setting. Even better, it's one less worry to keep Mom awake at night, so we're all happy with the product.

¡Perfectas!
¡Muy buen producto! Segui la recomendación de no usar solo el pegamento que viene incluido y use Kola Loka, la alarma quedó extremadamente fija a la superficie. El sonido que emiten es bueno, considerando el tamaño de la alarma
