Works very well for inlay work.
It does not look like brass in the container, but has more of a copper cast. Don't let that bother you - it polishes to a nice brassy finish. In the attached picture, I laser-etched a lightning bolt into walnut and filled it with the powder. Then I saturated the area with thin super glue, let dry, sanded and polished. The finish was exactly what I was looking for.

crochet hook head alternative
got this for sculpting crochet hooks heads that work with my interchangeable hand carved crochet hook handle. it's made from wood and brass, and got this to match the metal already inlayed in the handle. though brass is fairly soft, i wanted to have a more seamless aesthetic. the wood i used was a fresh cedar which really works well with the brass color. the cedar is shitoyant and the brass really plays off that well. i also wanted to use a bit for some inlay work on a cedar table lined with pine and purple heart, all of which really work well with brass. not sure how much i would need for that project though, it's not a huge table and this powder is pretty fine, so we'll see after some much needed calculation if i need to order another tub. great price point for the quality. really looking forward to using this for not just the inlay work and crochet hook heads, but many other fun projects

Fine grade powder. May require a lot of sanding/polishing to get a high metallic sheen
This brass powder is very fine and will mix in quite well, or you can dust your mold with it. Make sure to use enough powder. In order to get a realistic poloshed metallic look with a high shine, you may need to sand and polish it quite a bit - it may take a couple tries in order to achieve the look you want, so perhaps start with a couple smaller pieces until you are able to perfect your process.*Don't rely on the product images in the listing to accurately represent the color. If you look at the different metallic shades available, they all have the identical images, except for the color - they are clearly photoshopped.

It works
This bronze powder is a good deal for the price. It works as intended and i am happy with my order.

NOT 70% Cu Composition
If I could give this product zero stars I would. I purchase equipment and chemicals to train our chemists. Our student researchers ran multiple tests to determine the percent composition of copper to zinc. Across 21 independent student researches they all had a percent composition of 50% copper. As a department we were confused since the product CLEARLY states that this has a composition of 70% copper. We tested it ourselves as a faculty. We too determined a percent composition of 50% copper. This product is misleading if you're hoping to have 70% copper, which is why so many people who are using it for artistic purposes may see variation of color and quality throughout this product.

Beautiful!
I've been wanting to get into cold casting for a while now. This bronze powder is excellent! It has taken a little bit of experimenting, and I'm still not "good" at it yet, but even with minimal skill I was able to turn an acryllic badge into a nice, shiny bronze/resin cast.Taking the time to polish up the final piece is a must. Otherwise you'll just end up with something that looks like baby-poop-yellow resin (see picture of the back of the badge). But if you spend the time with some high-grit stand-paper or steel wool, you'll get something that actually looks a lot like a real metal object.

batch inconsistency
I am very disappointed. I've purchased 5 jars for a large project. 3 jars came with a strong green hue, while the other three ones were more reddish. They look like completely different products.

So excited to use this for resin inlays!!
I’ve done many castings and have worked extensively with resin. I’ve used plenty of different additives, but this will be my first time with adding a metal. This seems like a great one to use for inlays - very excited for results. The brass dust looks clean and fine, so it should do well in the resin I use. Happy with the product that arrived, so I will update if there are issues or unexpected results.
