Tony Bennett made music history with the Grammy-nominated CD Duets II when it debuted at the top of the Billboard Album Charts, making Bennett the oldest vocal artist ever to achieve the number one spot. Nominated for three Grammys, including Best Traditional Pop Vocal, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s), the critically acclaimed album followed the 85-year-old singer's Grammy-winning 2006 Duets CD which had, in turn, been released in honor of his 80th birthday. Tony Bennett: Duets II , is a presentation of great performances, featuring the singer’s greatest hits, performed by Bennett and today's biggest stars, including John Mayer, Michael Buble, K.D. Lang, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Queen Latifah, Norah Jones, Josh Groban, Faith Hill, Alejandro Sanz, and Carrie Underwood, and more. The sessions were filmed to capture the magic of these performers singing with the master of the Great American Songbook. The album took over six months to record with each track recorded face-to-face with his singer partners in studios around the world, from LA to Nashville to London. Among the many highlights is Amy Winehouse’s last recorded track ("Body and Soul"), which was produced in London’s famous Abbey Road Studios in March 2011. Other tracks were recorded in New York in late July: the Richard Rodgers-Lorenz Hart classic, “The Lady Is A Tramp” with Lady Gaga, and the Alan and Marilyn Bergman classic, “How Do You Keep The Music Playing,” with Aretha Franklin, and “Stranger in Paradise” with Andrea Bocelli, recorded at the singer’s Italian home. Review: Ageless Quality - Another fantastic music video by the great Tony Bennett with a wide variety of partners and no obvious weak links. The new main man, Michael Buble obviously stars but Lady Gaga is the highlight for me. Quality and obvious poignancy from Amy Winehouse. Absolutely love this recording, and only takes second place in our music DVD collection to the last Tony Bennett DVD we bought - Bennett An American Classic, which is simply wonderful and so much fun. Saw him for the first time at the ALbert Hall last month and didn't stop smiling from start to finish. Forget age, he does it right! Review: Great Music! - I saw the performance of this CD on TV which is why I ordered the music. Fabulous tracks and the amazing voice and passion of Tony Bennett at the ripe old age of 85 is heart lifting. Well chosen artists, many of whom I already love - I have so far not tired of this wonderful music and am a very new fan of Mr Bennett. I also ordered the first Duets album....also well worth owning although I do prefer Duets 11

Immaculate performance!.
How do you describe a genius of this class! This man, Tony Bennett, has quality beyond reach. I am almost his age and have many great singing performers in my libraries , but this fellow has been top of my 'league table' forever. I am very much into music and can say, without contradiction, what Tony does to any song he is rendering, is to take it, sing it with his effortless gifted style and put a lump in my throat......and not many singers do that for me! I enjoyed every track and guest on this DVD, my favourites being Willie Nelson, Josh Groban and Aretha Franklin, but ten out of ten also also to the others. Thank you Tony and if you are ever in the Glasgow area.................!!

Duets for Feinschmeckers
Great that we still have Tony Bennett around. Amazing that this 85 year old singer can still perform so well, and when one listens to the timbre of his voice, and particularly to his jazz-feeling and timing, only Frank Sinatra comes to mind. A few tracks are not that great, and that's basically due to Mr. Bennett's guests, but then it's not bad out 16 tracks. A wonderful track is the one with Willie Nelson swinging through the old standard "On the sunny side of the street", but the gems are Amy Winehouse in "Body and soul" and Lady Gaga in "The lady is a tramp". Thinking of the tragic end of Amy Winehouse at 27 almost makes you cry; what a loss of talent! And listen to Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga swing through the old Sinatra hit gave me a great boost, which can be recommended as the best (and cheapest) medicine on an off-day.

Bennett at his Best!
Brilliant album! His guests on these duets have shown what they can do outside of their own music. It was a joy to listen to. Not normally a Tony Bennett fan as I'm only a youngster at 54 lol but loved it straight away, he certainly has still got "it"!!

Absolutely brilliant!
All the standards are here - and you will be surprised at the performances of the artistes' supporting Tony - some of whom you wouldn't associate with his kind of music at all. This is a thoroughly enjoyable DVD and I listen to it over and over again. I doubt very much that you'll be disappointed! If you like it, you might care to try the Larry Adler CD 'The Glory of Gershwin' (available from Amazon) which was released in 1994 and, in addition to the inimitable Larry Adler, features the talents of Peter Gabriel, Chris de Burgh, Sting, Lisa Stansfield, Elton John, John Bon Jovi, Kate Bush and others singing the Gershwin standards!

±This is a lovely way to spend an evening.
Like all the artists duetting with Tony on this disc, I love his voice and his handling of the music. It seems that Tony's favoured arranger, George Calandrelli, has got to his soul and writes the music perfectly to complement the voice. The tunes are all nice, although not terribly challenging for all of the singers but what could you write for Lady Gaga? All in all, I really do like this and enjoyed the experience. Its let down slightly by only having a PCM audio track as opposed to the better DTS Master of other Blu Rays but you can't fault it otherwise. Some artists are better than others but, in the absence of Sinatra, its to be expected. I'm glad I invested.
