Coleman Weatherproof Sundome Outdoor Shelter

Not as easy as the pop up type sun tents but a lot better quality and bigger so it’s perfect for my new born and if my partner needs to breast feed her, it’s just 3 poles, a little tricky to slide in an out sometimes but only takes 5 minutes or so, just not much fun in wind as in every single day of the year here in Cornwall! But once it’s up it’s really good and it can be zipped completely closed as a secure ‘ish’wsy to leave your baby while you go to the pub or paddle in the sea. (Obviously I’m kidding, about the paddling it’s freezing in the sea)

Bought this shelter purely for use on the beach. I had seen a couple of these on the beaches and liked the style and like the fact that it was branded. I've had a few no-name shelters for around the £15 mark, they had no real quality, weren't waterproof and never lasted.When my order came I immediately took it in the garden to build it up. First impressions were good, very easy to build up. The poles are a bit thin but feel quality as the inner walls are thick. You get a bag of pegs for use on grass. The groundsheet is nice and thick and the shell material seems good quality. I checked all the seems and the zip, all very good. Then a 5 minute hosing assured me of the waterproofing, it is at the very least short heavy shower proof. A feature I had been looking for in a shelter was the sand pockets, as I use these just for the beach you cannot use ground pegs. I tested them out on the beach and they provide decent grounding in a light to moderate breeze. Plus you have some guy ropes for more stability which is a nice touch as you don't often see them on little shelters.The size of the shelter is just right. You can get changed in it, fit 3 adults in (just) and zip up if it rains and it's nice and light to carry.The shade created by the shelter is nice and cool, not many rays make it through, giving confidence in putting children in it to keep them out of the sun.The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the all too common problem with tents of all makes, the carry bag is tiny. I'm a big strong guy and as hard as I tried I couldn't wrap the tent tight enough to easily for it back in the back. It takes 2 minutes to build up and at least 10 to pack it away. It does eventually go in but it is stressing the seams on the bag, I can't see it lasting too long. Maybe it's me not using the right technique but it seems an all too common problem with all tents, not just Coleman.Overall I am very satisfied with the shelter itself and can see me getting many happy years out of it, even if the bag doesn't last.

I have had the green version of this sunshade for 5 years and it's listed really well. It's just starting to get a few holes so I thought I'd get another. I bought the blue one because they didn't have the green one in stock.A few pointers, this shade is nowhere near as effective as the older green version. There older green version had an silver looking interior (probably aluminium impregnated) to reflect the sunlight and, it was very good. Sitting under the canopy you didn't feel like you were in an oven. The blue version only diffuses the light, no reflection, hence it feels really hot. Also the floor on the blue version is painted black! A silly idea since it soon gets roasting hot, too hot for the kids to not complain. The older green version had a grey floor that stayed cooler.In short, don't buy this blue version of you're using it in the sun. Buy the green/silver version if you can. It's very easy to erect and it can last a long time.

I read the reviews and thought this would be a good buy for the beach. How wrong I was. I only bought this last week. June 2020. the blue and white Sunshade which can be zipped up.Pros. It is large enough for 2 adults and 2 small kids to shelter. Easy enough to put together if it doesnt break whilst doing this. best to build with 2 people. does the job to protect from the wind and sun and keep stuff safe for day at the beach.Cons. flimsy poles that hold it together. the elastic which holds the poles together broke from the middle when setting it up. this meant the poles went flying everywhere. I couldn't feed the elastic back through so tried to do without. whilst bending the poles to get the stretch and dig the tent into the sand it got a hole In it! at £30 on sale it is expensive. I wouldn't pay more than £5 for it. and to see the price has gone upto nearly £40 is shocking!yes I have sent it back for a refund. waiting for Amazon to resolve.

This review is being written about 5 years after purchase, so is done after using it quite a bit. 5 years on and we still have it, although there are some things I wish we had done differently. The main one is always clean the zips, eyelets and poles after use to get rid of the salt if using it at the seaside. We noticed the zip rotted away very quickly (within the first few months) as we didn't clean it. I'm sure if we had, it would still be working today.Also one of the eyelets gave out last year, but a couple of well place cable ties have served, and still serve as a good replacement.Even without the zip working (we never really used it much anyway), the tent still stands up to windy days on Cromer beach, and the pockets on the side are perfect for pebbles, big and small, or sand to help keep the tent down. The guy ropes should help as well but to be honest we rarely use them. Fill the pockets with pebbles, and then sit in the tent and it's not going anywhere.The beach tent provides lots of shelter, with plenty of space in it for two people on beach chairs and a picnic blanket, and loads of space in the back to store all your kit.A great purchase that is still going strong, but like I say, if you use it on the beach, make sure you wipe it clean of salt after use and it should last a long long time.

Fantastic tent for the beach, etc.Easy to put up and lots of anchor points for hard/soft ground. It won't fly away!Not the easiest tent to pack away, but that is forgivable given its size and funcionality.The kids love playing in it and once zipped up, it also gives them a private area to get changed and to store items when going for a dip in the sea.Great service - as usual - from Nencini Sport. Aún no lo he probado en la playa con viento, simplemente en casa para probarlo.Me sorprendió lo amplio que es, hasta el punto de que me da que vamos a ser el centro de atención en la playa al a que vaya.. pero tiene muy buenos acabados.Quizá por decir algun contra, es que los colores son demasiado claros y va a dejar pasar bastante luz. No sé hasta qué punto puede sustituir a la sombrilla de toda la vida, pero es lo bastante amplia como para guardar el bolso de la playa, nevera, y entrar 2 personas adultas sentadas/tumbadas perfectamente.Con muchas ganas de probarlo este verano.

Muy bueno, estaba en duda una vez comprada, incluso procedí a la opción de cancelar el pedido. Pero no lo pude hacer y ya había salido el producto, y me alegro. Es lo mejor para poder llevarlo a la playa, al pantano, al monte, donde sea se cierra con cremallera, por lo que queda como una tienda de campaña, yo que mido un 1,80 entro dentro perfectamente estirado y con las bolsas en los laterales. La calidad es buena y el precio es bueno. También la cremallera que se cierra perfectamente y va muy fluida es buena cremallera, las varillas son de tienda de campaña y se monta muy fácil, son todo ventajas la verdad es que estoy muy contento con la compra. para los niños entran mis dos hijos perfectamente en la tienda o parasol cómo se quiera llamar. La verdad que estoy muy contento con ello y me alegro no haberlo podido cancelar. Se puede usar sin piquetas se mantiene en el suelo sin necesidad de vientos ni piquetas ni nada. Lógicamente habría que meterle peso dentro porque si viene aire se lo lleva pero vamos eso es de cajón.

Amanti dell' Out Door e della vita in Campeggio, avendo altri prodotti Coleman,ci siamo fidati del Brand da sempre sinononimo indiscusso di qualita' e valore.Dalle foto che si trovano on-line l' articolo non rende assolutamente, solamente dopo averlo aperto e montato si puo constatare l' elevata qualita' dei materiali e le dimensioni ottimali (almeno per 2 persone), ideali per un utilizzo itinereante, inizialmente pensavo fosse troppo piccolo ma una volta montato mi sono letteralmente ricreduto e' semplicemente fantastico, copre abbondantemente e ciliegina sulla torta, ho potuto testare l' ottimo telo ignifugo alluminato e con protezione i raggi UV. Sottolineo che questo prodotto NON e' il modello XL come ha scritto qualcuno, e anche per questo la fase di montaggio e relativo smontaggio e' veramente rapida, inoltre il leggerissimo sacchetto per niente invasivo, puo' essere facilmente trasportato in ogni situazione.

Nachdem wir 5 Jahre mit einer 10 Euro Strandmuschel in den Urlaub gefahren sind, die nun leider kaputt gegangen ist, waren wir auf der Suche nach Ersatz. Zudem wollten wir keine mehr in knallbunten Farben. Farblich ist diese nun genau das was wir gesucht haben. Der Aufbau ist sehr schnell und einfach erledigt, vorausgesetzt man "modifiziert" die beiden kurzen Fieberglasstäbe. Diese musste ich um ganze 5cm kürzen, weil sie sonst nur mit großer Gewalt in die dafür vorgesehenen Halter gesteckt werden konnten. Die Nähte standen so unter Spannung das es nur eine Frage der Zeit gewesen wäre bis sie eingerissen wären. Ansonsten ist noch positiv zu erwähnen das das "Zelt" mittels Reissverschluß geschlossen werden kann. Dies verhindert zwar keinen "Einbruch" aber ich denke Gelegenheitsdiebe werden dadurch abgeschreckt.Ich würde wieder kaufen.

I was looking at the Terra Nation beach shelters, but they're heavy, bulky when packed (because of the easy-up mechanism), very expensive and probably not even that suitable for setting up in strong winds (according to some reviewers). But I didn't want another 10 EUR shelter which makes me sad every time I put it up. So I ended up ordering the Coleman Sundome, in green because it was the cheapest color. I like it a lot, it's well made, like a tent (a good one, I suppose, I have no experience with cheap tents). Good strong webbings, eyelets etc. Strangely enough, the atmosphere it 'breahtes' is also much different from a super cheap shelter, not sure why (probably because of the super cheap fabric with no UV protection that 10 EUR beach shelters are made of).But I found it's 1.6 kg a bit heavy, and I thought that the packing size could also be smaller, so we did some modifications: replaced all the poles with lighter aluminium ones and we cut the groundsheet extension off. Now it's 300 grams lighter, and packs much smaller. Like it even more ;-)In the picture I've added the Sundome is set up without stakes and guy lines, so it could look much better if I would have taken a little more effort...

Me he quitado la sombrilla y las esterillas , voy siempre con la tienda a la playa. Tanto los dias de aire como de sol la utilizo. Muy rapida de montar , comoda y da muchisima sombra. Estoy super contento con esta compra.

lo estrenamos ,la semana pasada en una playa ventosa de Cadiz ,y nos encantó su estabilidad y su función como paraviento.Muy buena calidad,es grande,mirar las medidas y montarla primero en el salón de casa,para practicar,la volveria a comprar sin dudar,una compra 10

La compré pensando que seria practica. No lo es, es muy aparatosa, un poco grande y al carecer de ventilación la verdad es que te asas por dentro.Me encanta la marca Coleman, creo que hacen productos geniales, pero esta tienda no es precisamente el producto que estaba buscando para mi esposa, mi hijo y yo.

Die Ausrichtung am Strand idealer Weise zu zweit.Die Verarbeitung ist gut, an manchen Stellen ist die Naht etwas verlaufen, jedoch nur ein optischer Makel.Die Größe ist ideal um großzügig zu zweit darin zu liegen. Korrekt ausgerichtet spendet die Muschel Schatten und bietet Schutz vor Wind und Blicken. In Dänemark bis Windstärke 4 erprobt. Die Muschel bietet Dank Seitentaschen auch Platz für Sand oder Steine, dadurch liegt sie flach auf und flattert nicht.Ich kann die Muschel nur empfehlen.

This is good shelter from wind and the sun, when is rainy I just zip a zipper and close the shelter. I used the shelterthree summer seasons and now I have the new one again. It is quick to set up. After three years of using, the fabric became fragile.

Grande, facile à monter, prend peu de place quand elle est pliée et résiste aux vents de la mer du nord sans brocher. Offre un coin de fraicheur même à 35 degrés. Possibilité de faire sécher les vêtements sur l'extérieur, malheureusement à l'intérieur, ni poche ni d'endroit où suspendreServait d'abord de terrain de jeu à ma fille, très mobile mais qui refusait de toucher le sable et c'est assez grand pour qu'elle y passe la journée.On s'y est retrouvé à 3 adultes + 1 enfant et tous les sacs à l'abri de fortes pluies...on avait encore de la place.Pliée-dépliée des dizaines de fois, on a déchiré le sac permettait de la ranger (on pourrait encore l'utiliser) mais je trouve plus simple de la plier dans un sac de courses avec un plaid.

Este invento es una gran opción si vas a la playa con bebes. mi pequeño se ha dormido unas siestas estupendas. Es fácil de montar cuando le coges el truco y no pesa nada para transportarla. Además los colores están muy bien pensados para no producir impacto visual en las playas, se camufla bien a diferencia de otros modelos de colores fosforitos.

oggetto eccezionale, è limitativo considerarlo una "cupola parasole",per l'escursionismo, può prendere tranquillamente il posto di un tarp, visto le ragguardevoli dimensioni,...è possibile creare una camera, richiudendo parte del pavimento tramite cerniera lampo!!non dovrebbe mancare nel bagaglio di un qualunque turista...salutistefano

We used the Colman Shelter for the first time when spending a week on a lake in Styria.The tent was perfect for out family of three.Easy to put up (never even needed to look at the instructions), built to last, and unlike some of the other "evaluations", we found it easy to get the whole tent back into it's carrying case.The UV factor was actually 40, and the protection this provides while relaxing or reading on the shore was very important for us.All in al,l I can't imagine a better product of this size and type.

Wir wollten eine Strandmuschel, die sich klein verpacken lässt und trotzdem stabil und gut verarbeitet ist. Diese haben wir mit der Coleman gefunden. Bisher war es ein guter Kauf. Einfach aufzubauen ist sie auch noch. Schön ist, dass man sie verschließen kann, auch wenn das natürlich nicht vor "Einbruch" schützt, so wird es doch den einen oder anderen "Einbrecher" abhalten.
