Great quality for beginners like myself.
I have a basic keyboard that I'm using to teach myself how to play. I've been needing a decent sustain pedal, and this fits the bill perfectly. It plugs in to the back of my keyboard with a 1/4" jack, and even has a switch on the side that will switch between sustain always on, or sustain on when pressed. It's rugged enough to withstand my stomping, and has held up well so far. Considering the price, this is a great addition to any beginner's keyboard.

Works as expected
The baseplate is plastic and can flex slightly, but not enough to be a problem. It has 4 small grippy feet underneath which do prevent sliding.I tested the pedal with an ohmmeter and confirmed that it is an on-off type pedal, not continuously variable. The small rocker switch on the side reverses the pedal between normally-open and normally-closed, as needed. The switch is marked 0 and 1 like a power switch, but these markings merely indicate the polarity settings. The unit is fairly quiet. There is the typical amount of mechanical noise from a pedal of this type. There is no audible clicking at the point in the pedal's travel where actuation occurs. The strength of the spring is comparable to other piano sustain pedals I have used.Pedal height and travel are also as expected. The tip of the pedal is 2⅜ inches from the floor when up, and 1¾ inches from the floor when down. Actuation occurs about midway through the travel.

Works
Pedal works ok, it isn’t as heavy as I wish it were.

Good quality, travel-friendly sustain pedal
I use M-Audio SP2's at all four of my keyboard station in the house, and was attracted to this one as a travel sustain pedal, one I can keep in my keyboard gig bag that's still reliable and good to play with. This Upella sustain pedal fits the bill, it isn't as long and isn't as heavy as the SP-2, but it doesn't seem overly cheap. The pedal itself is a little tighter than the SP-2. The Upella's polarity switch is on the side of the pedal casing, as opposed to a tiny switch on the underside of the SP-2, so if that switch is something you want easy and ready access to (say if you have a synth tune where sustain-always-on is helpful) then that's a plus for the Upella. The cable itself is as thick as the SP-2's, so you're not getting a cheapo thin cable that will get sliced up by movement in a gig bag.I got it specifically for travel, but would have no problem using this pedal in one of my stationary setups.

Very stiff pedal
I have a Yamaha electric piano and it has a sustain pedal but that pedal sometimes squeaks, so I thought to give this one a try since it was so inexpensive.Interestingly, the Upella pedal has an on-off switch (not sure why—I think most folks would leave it on all the time since it isn’t using any energy and would anyway not do anything when the connected piano was off). The sustain function works okay, but the pedal is, for me, uncomfortably stiff compared with the Yamaha sustain pedal. It must have a massive spring. Perhaps because of this spring, its action is actually louder than my Yamaha sustain pedal.

Absolute yes for $9
For 9 bucks, this UPELLA piano sustain pedal is an easy yes. It’s universal, works with pretty much any keyboard, and has a polarity switch for compatibility. It’s surprisingly sturdy, with anti-slip rubber that keeps it in place, and it’s got a good build for the price. I didn’t expect much, but it delivers great sustain without any issues. If you need a budget-friendly sustain pedal that gets the job done, this is definitely it. Five stars!

Sustain that sound
Got this for my synthesizers and it is very good. It is a well built sustain pedal that will sustain a lot of use. It sits firm in place and the right angle plug is perfect for a flush connection to the back of the keyboard. When depressed the pedal feels good and consistent in its triggering the sustain. Priced very reasonably for such a good quality universal pedal.

Exactly What I Needed – Great Sustain Pedal for a Bargain!
This UPELLA sustain pedal was exactly what I was looking for! It works flawlessly with my keyboard, and the installation was as simple as plugging it in. The quality feels really solid, especially for the price—it’s under $10 but performs like a more expensive pedal. The non-slip design keeps it firmly in place, and it provides a smooth, natural response while playing.Although it doesn't support half-pedaling like more premium models, it’s perfect for my home setup. Overall, this is a fantastic sustain pedal for anyone needing a reliable and affordable option. Highly recommend!
