Hard wearing and good looking
This is definitely a hard-wearing jacket. Very stiff upon delivery, but I can see that it will become more flexible. It has a very 'triangular torso' fit, with expansion in the shoulders due to gusset style flaps, and a very narrow waist.I'm 5'10", slim, with a 31" waist and the small is a snug fit on me. I have to raise my arms/shoulders slightly in order to get it zipped up (there is absolutely no stretching of material here!), But then it sits back down on my waist nicely. The expandable shoulders mean it will never feel restrictive. It's not the thickest of jackets, so unlikely to be useful in cold weather anyway and therefore looks great unzipped, the slim fit ensuring no excess material is flapping around. It perhaps feels bulkier than it looks, but that may be down to the initial stiffness of the fabric. The arms feel roomy, but there are 2 levels of cuff adjustment and they feel normal once fastened. If you are unsure of, or do not want the slim fit, then the EJ022 may be more of a traditional, relaxed fit with a very similar look.I bought one black and one tan to replace my leather jackets and I'm very happy.

Superb quality and look ... if your body fits the specification :)
Great workmanship on a jacket that will last years. I find it really difficult to get a jacket that I like for work, but these are excellent. It has a real feel and look of quality and I'm sure will improve with age rather than look tattered. I'm 5'11" with 32" waist and the medium - regular fits very well, jacket comes down just below belt line. One thing I never thought about was the zip tongue being on the opposite side from the UK, I'm sure I will get used to it.Inside pocket is large with a zipped top, so it the breast pocket and will fit most mobiles ... maybe not that massive stupid Samsung, but anything else will fit. Thanks to Tanya for checking the jacket after it was made ... nice touch with little paper note in the pocket!

Love this robust, great looking jacket
I absolutely love this jacket. It is the jacket I always wanted but didn't know. I happened across it whilst browsing Wrangler/Levis lined denim/cord jackets - but I was not sure about denim or cord. People comment on it - positively. It's as stiff as a board when arrives and breaks in slowly. It's a heavy canvas type material, has heft and feels like it will outlast me. The construction, stitching etc appears very robust. This is made for work. I bought the Large size, I am 6ft, 42" chest and am very happy with the fit. I think mine is EU sized. I can wear hoodies and thick jumpers underneath comfortably. I've had it about 3 months now. Love it :-)

Good jacket
The jacket is incredibly warm (sometimes too warm), very sturdy and looks great. It fits pretty big around the chest and arms for a medium and a little small around the waist but this allows you to multiple layers under it.while not being restricted in arm movement. Its a bit stiff out of the box but it becomes easier to move in after wearing it for a while.

Great overall, not only for working purpose
When was the last time you had to "break-in" a jacket. Such quality is rare. Great overall, not only for working purpose. I agree with others that the waist cut is a little thight as oppose to the chest and especially the arms but in turn you get great movement. It also doesnt look too akward. I got mine a size smaller and was worried about it being a tight fit. But not at all. Shield well for wind weather and with hoodie buttons provided you can get this added on. Great jacket that I am anticipating to get even better when worn in.

Not really suitable as a fashion garment.
Rigid, tough fabric and a bit long in the arm. This is a proper work jacket and sadly not really suitable as a fashion garment. However as a jacket for working in a tough outdoor environment it's ideal

I always feel like a pro when I wear carhartt
I ordered this jacket for my brother who works outside with trees. When you order carhartt coats or jackets they are made big I knew this already so I ordered the size below .I have worked with Americans for 15 years and carhartt is a brand you can trust! The coat or jacket if worn regularly will last for 10 years . I love the tough brass zip and the rugged feel to there products.. In America there are other brands that make this style of out door clothing too that are also good, carhartt is the one Europeans are familiar with. The coats are very warm and wind resistant ! They can be too warm to wear if the weather turns mild. I love my carrhatt products!!

Might Just Outlast Me!
This is a fairly heavy and extremely tough jacket, and it was a little like wearing a roll of carpet at first. I've read online that breaking one in is as easy as wearing it for work every day for 25 years, and it might just be true. Being impatient, I helped mine along a little by adding some vinegar to the wash cycle; this won't damage the properties of the material like a fabric softener would. The fit's a little unusual. It's roomy enough for a couple of layers underneath, until I try to close the zip. Then, it's a bit snug. I'm 5'10" with a 42" chest, 16.5" neck and 36" waist, so most Size L shirts and sweatshirts fit pretty well. I bought a size L Regular, and the next size up would have probably been too long in the sleeves.I've worn it for quite a few months now, and it's weathering nicely. It'll just look better the more beaten it gets.No regrets whatsoever on buying this jacket.
