My 9 year old loves these books!
My son is 9 and in 3rd grade and hates reading but LOVES this series! These are definitely some of the only books that we have found which he enjoys! One of the first times he read one he said “WHAT?! I’ve been reading for 20 minutes?! It only felt like 5!!!” Thank goodness! They have a very cute and imaginative story line! I feel like they would be suitable for all kids, especially those needing a slower transition to chapter books...they are chapter books, but they have a picture every 2-3 pages which my son loves! Great for 2nd and 3rd graders...or a higher level 1st grade reader!

The Hall Monitors are Fired!
(Written by a 9-year old) This book is awesome! In The Hall Monitors are Fired, Orson Eerie (the school) tries to get the hall moniters fired, so he can feed on students. His plan works, but the hall moniters don't give up! What a fun book! You should read it.

Very enjoyable and just-right length
My 10-year-old started reading these books a few years ago. They are engaging and he generally finishes them quickly. They are below his reading level but I’m OK with that because he really loves them. I would say they are good starter chapter books that are not overwhelming to young kids in terms of length. I will continue to buy these books.

"This book is amazing", says my 8yo
It is amazing because Sam, Lucy, and Antonio battled Eerie Elementary. 😀 Orson Eerie is a mad scientist who built the school. How do the hall monitors get their jobs back? Read and find out!

I love this series
Great set of young reader adventure books. The books all fit together and have lot of imagination behind each story. It is very easy to read these chapter books and they follow the same kind of drama the rest do. Great for my 10yr old boy!!

I love that they don't gear specifically to boys or girls
My daughter absolutely loves this series! I pre-order every book and she's excited when they arrive. I love that they don't gear specifically to boys or girls. My younger son has no interest in reading the girlie books my daughter reads but I plan on saving this series for him.

Highly recommended series!
I highly recommend this series of books. They present a captivating story for children, with excellent problem-solving by the key characters. Each story leaves children anticipating the next in the series, even when they have otherwise outgrown the target audience! Jack Chabert is an excellent story-teller with a great connection to children's imagination.
